As ever there was a warm welcome from the receptionist with a short wait before being called forward to see the dentist of choice. I was made to feel comfortable and after the initial inspection the dentist's findings were explained and discussed as to the possible way forward. A small broken filling was cleaned up re-filled before before deciding on my next check-up.
There reception processed final arrangements with a cheery smile. Thank you all for making my time at the dental centre a pleasant expeience
£87 for 15 min of scale and polish with the hygienist, it is a disgrace and I'm not sure we can call that polishing.
Then like every year I have an appointment with the hygienist and then a check up straight after with the dentist, I always book them after my annual appointment and always on the same day.
Turns out they booked my check up appointment for 30th April 2025 instead of 2024, so I had to book another appointment in a month time. There weren't any apppogies for their obvious mistake.
It's a shame it's so hard to find space in other practices otherwise I'd be gone a long time ago as I always have issues with them
Over the last few weeks I’ve had a strange problem with my left jaw and one tooth in particular. Both the lady and young man on reception have been brilliant. First class customer service. I’ve also been lucky enough to have been seen by Gita (dentist). Not only is she a lovely lady but has gone above and beyond to deal with my issues. Excellent ????????????
I've been coming to this Dentist for 23 years since I was 13 when it was run by Dr Levy with zero problems. Since Rodericks took over it has seriously gone downhill. I haven't had a problem with receptionists like other reviews have, just the dentist in recent years and on one occasion getting a fine through the post claiming I'd received free dental care wrongly because someone at the practice had ticked the wrong box on why I was eligible for free dental care.
I used to have a lovely blonde Irish lady but she unfortunately moved/left after becoming pregnant so we then started to see a another female dentist who is always on the first room on the right as you walk in the front door. Generally speaking she's a lovely lady to talk to but there have been a few issues, like a filling done that then came loose which she didn't notice during the check up which I had to point out and she seemed surprised etc. I've never found having fillings done an easy experience, but in recent years because of the new dentist there I have developed insane anxiety around having any work done and now need to be referred to be put under sedatives when having work done as I am too frightened of having her or anyone else do it. I asked to switch dentist, and I saw a different dentist maybe once but then for all following appointments I was given back to the dentist I no longer wanted to see and totally ignored about not wanting her as a dentist. Embarrassed I ignored the issue not wanting to keep pressing the point or make a big deal out of it. Until now.
During a clean several months ago, my 13 year old son was frightened/uncomfortable and suddenly cried out and was making noises as if he were in pain but she wouldn't stop. He was really upset and went to the toilet while his brothers had their check up etc. When the rest of us left the room to book in for our next appointment he showed me his gum where there was a small gash. She had slipped and cut into his gum. It took months to persuade him to go back for his check-up where I assured him we would speak to her and she'd understand and all he had to do was put his hand up and say stop next time.
We went back for his check up a couple of days ago. At first he wouldn't get in the chair. I explained to her why he is frightened but she either ignored me or didn't hear me. Her voice was firm with him tapping the chair saying "come on!". Whilst examining him she gave no warning and went to remove plaque with the little tool. He put his hand up saying WAIT several times but she totally ignored him and carried on. I said aloud "he said wait" but I was ignored. I repeated about cutting his gum last time and that's why he's frightened and rather patronisingly explained to me it's normal for gums to bleed during a clean. I know this. At 36 years old it's happened enough times with me but there was a small GASH in his gum. I explained this to her and she seemed shocked "really?" yet no apology. I completely understand why he now refuses to ever go back. How can you trust someone who is physically inside your mouth with sharp tools that won't stop when you ask them to. He is totally traumatised and refuses to ever go back. I am going to have to change dentists for all of us as clearly asking to switch dentist gets ignored and even then I wonder if she's totally terrified him for life off dentists now. I will just have to keep trying.
Great staff and dentists, always very welcoming. I managed to get an emergency appointment as had been in chronic pain over the weekend, fingers crossed the dentist has found the problem and have received a prescription for antibiotics and instructions how to deal with the issue.
The dentist was in a rush, after paying £83 for my first private appointment. She can't even spand genuine 5min on me, even can't even repeat a faulty xray. One word for it TERRIBLE. She spent less than 2min on my daughter who have never seen a dentist before likewise me.
Absolutely discusted with the service they gave my mum this morning, receptionist had given mum the wrong time for her appointment so when she turned up she was late, they said they had given me a ring a couple of days before to confirm time which was a lie, and then they kept my mums deposit. This all upset my mum.
Today and in fact the last several appointments have been superb. Service, friendliness all good. I have been with this dentist for around 20 years
