Great tasty chips. Good vegan options available such as 4 vegan nuggets for £1.50 (special offer), amazingly tasty pea fritter, pineapple fritter, all fried in veg oil, not beef dripping! Had nice mushy peas & curry sauce too.

Stopped in for chips on a very cold walk around Brightlingsea. Friendly service. Chops were some of the best I've had. Cooked really well with a few crispy ones. Really enjoyed them. Stood by the boats in the sun eating them. Excellent afternoon.
Lovely fresh food, big portions, gave one star for atmosphere because we were the only one in the restaurant side but there was nice background music
Well worth the 150 mile round trip from Welwyn to get Winkie’s fish and chips
Winkies has the absolute best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The fish and chips isn’t greasy, the staff are lovely and has a great vibe.
My wife and I always go back to winkies everytime we visit the UK. Bonus tip: make sure you get the curry sauce.

The best fish and chips I have ever had! We ate in the restaurant part, which serves alcohol, in a group of 7. The service was extremely good, but the food was incredible. Can't rate it highly enough.
Excellent traditional fish and chip shop take-away, with adjoining dining room. All cooked fresh to order, so everything is piping hot, and only about 10 minutes wait. Large choice of options (including unusual items such as veggie Quorn burger and spicy bean burger) and all at great value prices - with generous size portions. Nice, friendly, helpful staff, too. Will definitely be back next time in Brightlingsea. Really cannot beat Winkies!
