We first stayed at Windsor House on mother's day weekend for two nights. My mum was in the single room (room 1) downstairs due to her mobility whilst my daughter and I stayed in the family room ( room 3). We were very impressed by the place. Very modern, newly decorated, very warm, beds were so comfortable, refreshments , kettle and towels. The bathrooms were a really good size and good showers. We spoke to the owner who answered the phone straight away and was so nice and helpful. On our last day we met the housekeeper who again was lovely. |My daughter and myself had to travel back up on Easter Bank Holiday Monday for one night and stayed in room 2 this time . After a 5 and a half hour drive it was again a welcoming place to stay. |You are on quite a busy road but you would not know that as it is quiet in the rooms even at night. |We are going back up to see family again in the Summer and will be booking again. |Great house , great stay and worth the five stars ???? ???? ???? ???? ????
Nice, clean and tidy room, no fuss booking or getting access, ideally placed for an early morning dash to the ferry port. ||Having been let down at literally the last minute by a booking elsewhere I had to find and book somewhere as we were driving up. This was ideal.
Room 3. Well decorated, pleasant environment and clean. Well situated for town and hospital (which we were visiting) .|It needs to be made clear that the 'private bathroom' to Room 3 is accessed via the stairwell and not from inside the bedroom. |A loose strip on top step in the bathroom is a slip hazard. Hooks required in the bathroom for towels/clothes. |Of serious concern - the lack of any information about fire exit procedures, i.e., no written information in room or hallway and a locked 'fire door' (yale lock).
We had a large room that had been recently refurbished. It was clean and comfortable and very good value for money. Tea & coffee are provided and the shower was lovely. A few small things would have improved our stay. We only had 3 hangers in the wardrobe one of which was broken and there were no hooks behind the doors, There was no soap or shower gel provided. what was very frustrating on arrival was the lack of toilet roll, clearly an oversight by the cleaners and because the owners are not on site it was a trip to the supermarket after a very long journey for essentials.
Stayed in the garden room for 1 night, spacious room and bathroom. Plenty heat and hot water. However, big negative, very strong smell of smoke, awful, please add signs not to smoke. Also smell of perfume, not sure if it’s the fabric conditioner on bedding, but too strong, unpleasant. Also, quality of the sheets, bedding, cheapest of cheap. The gate entrance and steps to the garden room are dangerous. Awful nights sleep. Left at 6 am!
Not a bad place at all, but there are some downsides: there are no blinds in the bathroom, the shower head fell off on me, and you can hear everyone else in here. Still two days to go.
Very easy to find the place and instructions were given to enter.
Good impression, cleanliness at high standard and comfortable to stay overnight.
It has a service with a kettle, tea, coffee and sugar and soaps for the shower. A pack of towels and a very good size for a bedroom and bathroom.
Comfortable bed and no noise from outside.
Stayed in room 4 nice room, comfortable bed and tea/coffee/sugar/kettle and MILK in the room as I saw someone say there wasn’t any. Was very excited to find a hair dryer in the drawer as I’d left mine at home. Didn’t see anyone to check in which is good for introverts. Couldn’t find the wifi password so called the owner and he picked up immediately and wasn’t bothered I asked a question he’d already answered, sorry about that. Really pleasant man. Close to the town where there’s a number of shops and cafes/restaurants. Everyone was nice around the area too. Would recommend for anyone who wants a nice place to stay at a really reasonable price.
