Food is very good. The shrimp main dish is very tasty. The lamb is solid but not great. Special mention for the chocolate tart. Service was good. Generally good value for money. Only downside is that it is a quiet place with little atmosphere. If you want good food around the downtown area. A good place to go
White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails is located at the corner of Peachtree and Baker streets in downtown Atlanta. I've frequented this spot numerous times, especially when my main office was in Atlanta. It was conveniently located right across the street.
They offer southern inspired cuisine. I love their salads. I had the Niçoise salad. The tuna was fantastic! Also, I had to get a side of fries. Crispy and delicious.
The restaurant is huge, accommodating over 300 guests and featuring three different dining rooms. Inside, the décor incorporates white oak and repurposed wood, hence the name. The atmosphere is airy and farm house rustic. They have three signature chandeliers made of sugar maple from the Jack Daniels Distillery.
Came in for a few drinks here before taking an Uber to the Battery. It looked more interesting than the hotel bar. The bartender was friendly and inviting. The cocktails were made beautifully, but I didn’t think they tasted as good as they cost. I also felt the atmosphere didn’t really match the vibe of a typical cocktail bar. I’ll admit I was here in daylight and it may change at night. I would go back and give it a second try if convenient, and order a classic cocktail. Although I didn’t order food, the dishes I saw around the restaurant looked well presented.
We were a table of four adults. We tried the shrimp, trout, pork tenderloin & short rib dishes as well as the brussels sprouts side. The shrimp and trout dishes were great. The pork tenderloin and the short rib were dry. The brussels sprouts needed more sauce and cooked a little longer. Our server was fantastic and we liked the atmosphere.
Came here with a group and was a little underwhelmed with the food. It is quite expensive and a small portion, but the flavors described on the menu were missing. The textures were interesting too especially for the desserts which were gelatin.
Certainly better than the average review. Servers were attentive, accurate order deliver and fast (almost too fast).
Charcuterie is a good size and variety, Moonshine margarita has a bite and the International wine list is impressive.
Catch of the day was a Corvina, outstanding. Cooked perfectly. Try the green balls (brussels) and the deserts were yummy. ????
Awesome place. Straight up downtown so parking is a bit of a challenge but WORTH IT. Awesome gorgeous space. Great people and service. Definitely go. Probably easily one of the best whiskey bars in town.
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is amazing. I stayed in Atlanta for a residency and ate here 3 times because it was so good. I had lunch, dinner, and brunch before I left. I was served by Emiah for lunch, I had the burger, and Dayton for dinner, having had the braised beef rib and brunch having had the crab poached benedict.. I also tried the cheesecake and the blueberry pie, both amazing! Both servers were amazing and very customer oriented. The manager Tyler was also fabulous and made my visit to Atlanta memorable! This will definitely be a go-to when I travel to this city! If you are in the area, this is a must eat place!
