The food is great. The server pretty well forgot about me after she collected my empty plate. Refilling my water should have still been a possibility for her. She went from a 10 dollar tip down to a 5 dollar tip. Besides that she was pleasant and got our orders correct.
My only criticism is the floor is filthy. I got there at 4 pm on day before Thanksgiving and there was nobody there. Staff was sitting around not doing anything. There's no reason to have that much debris on the floor when there's nothing else going on.
I'll come back again.
Meh... Sometimes, there's a place I've known about for years but never gotten around to going. I think to myself it's been open for 30 years got to be good.? Nah, I was thinking it might be some like a Denny's. Nope, more like a truck stop feeling with mediocre food over priced. $34ish for 2 golden French toast plates with eggs and bacon.
They did have some pies on display that looked like they might be tasty.
Bathroom smelled dirty upon walking in , the wait was entirely too long to still get overcooked pancakes, the food for the most part was okay however people came in after my family and were promptly severed; not sure how the tickets are being placed in the kitchen . This place at one time was 5 star 3 or so years ago. I don't see myself making another special trip for expensive food and not so great services. I appreciate the hostess more than our server.
Good American . I had the Supreme 2x2x2x2 / Bacon was very good and my youngest said it was better than any other places, although the hot chocolate was a bit too sweet. Good service. The price is still competitive even after inflation. Has always been affordable.
I've always known about this place, but never been so I finally ate here. Only greeted by a server yelling (How Many...Take a Seat). Not very welcoming, plus the dark decor inside is very dated which makes it feel dirty. I ordered the combo supreme. Nearly empty restaurant and it took about 40 minutes to get my order. Server seemed to have no life in her, no joy in her job. Anyway, over easy eggs were greasy and tasteless, meats were just blah, hash browns still wet. The pancakes were very good though! Server never checked on me once my food came. Nothing entices me to eat here again.
Our family has loved this restaurant but this trip was not good. Food was not as ordered but they were visibly under staffed to be fair. If you under tip, beware. I don't typically but I was hassled by the person checking us out. They also asked you to give them the tip amount so they can add it and then if not up to standards, make you feel guilty. Also, $45 for two people for breakfast food with a drink. Did you go up in price? Caused me think about not going back.
I've been going to the Manchester, Missouri Uncle Bills restaurant for a few weekends for breakfast, but no more after this weekend. My food, however, was just barely warm. Wet scrambled eggs that had cooled off, and weren't fully cooked. Cold bacon. Biscuits that were cool-to-warm and became hard because they were undoubtedly prepared in a microwave. In the past I've received luke-warm bacon and pancakes that weren't cooked through (runny in the middle). This appears to be the way the restaurant enjoys serving food... cooked and cold, or warm but not quite cooked.
I'm sure they'll blame their issues on staffing problems, but I don't care about that. I prepare meals for myself every day of the week. What I don't prepare has to be microwaved because of my work schedule. So, one day a week I look forward to going out and treating myself for breakfast. I tried giving this place more than one chance, but I won't go back now.
The server was nice enough. However, management apparently does not care about customer satisfaction. I told someone about the condition of my meal. Her response was, "Oh, that's too bad... $20.00 please." Never asked what was wrong with my meal or offered to discount the bill. I guess they believe one customer makes no difference and their doors will stay open regardless. It could be a good place if ran differently.
This place is exactly what you want it to be: traditional comfort food, nothing fancy. The eggs are cooked just right, hash browns cooked to your liking (extra crispy please!) and the coffee is hot and never runs out. I love that there is a fireplace in the center of the room making it feel cozier, and the service is really fast. We've been here a couple times with a large group and they still get the meals out quickly. All the staff are professional and nice, and since you pay at the register, you don't feel like you're waiting around for the bill. If I'm for some reason starving at 3am on a Tuesday, I know I can go to Uncle Bill's because they are open 24 hours!
