WOW WOW WOW! The Wave is the most Wonderful hotel we've stayed at down the Jersey Shore. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We were smiling our entire stay. Thank you to the Wave and all your Employees. We loved Victoria! The pool is so inviting and the server came around with a nice small glass of a frozen drink, non-alcoholic as well. Classy. We cannot wait to return. Love you guys.
appearances are deceiving; from the outside the wave looks like a 5 star resort. once you stay you see the deception. we had a 3 nite stay & were given a room where pets stayed in, unbeknown to us& although i'm allergic to pet dander!!!!! nowhere on their website is it listed as a pet friendly "resort". 1/4 our room #309 was not used by us for the following reasons; fully stained pull out sleeper sofa & chair!!!!! it was noticed upon arrival & we agreed to cover it w/a towel, but not use it. the 2nd day we took off all the cushions & each & every one was fully stained w/either urine, vomit and/or feces!!!!! in addition the mattress in the sleeper sofa was yellow stained w/urine!!!!!! head of housekeeping claimed all of the stains were bleach??????? i beg to differ. whatever caused the stain, the stain was not removed from the cushions in the stained outer coating. this is unsanitary & is a bio hazard & b of health issue to say the least. head of housekeeping took photos of the seating & was unable to replace the whole sofa sleeper & chair. he was instructed to just give us new cushions , one of which had a stain as well!!!!! we covered the stained seating w/a comforter & towels. this clearly is not normal protocol for a 5 star resort to say the least. for all that trouble they offered us a 1 day refund of the 55 resort fee. this is unacceptable.||||the balcony did not lock, which is a security issue. we noticed this on our last nite & when we reported it, they claimed it was a child lock & there was sign w/instruction. i beg to differ for i noticed no signs on the door. the balcony was full of dirt, food debris from previous occupants, pollen, dirty stained glass, cracked concrete & rust stains!!!!!! the cracks on the balcony is a MAJOR issue that needs to be remediated & inspected by engineers!!!!! i was unable to comfortably use the balcony for these reasons. furthermore there was no seating nor screen on the balcony!!!!! the chairs provided were rusted w/ragged pieces of metal protruding from them!!!!! this is another health issue. suppose i got a laceration from the metal & it became infected. i wonder what the board of health would say about this? the front desk response to all of this was that they're in the process of getting new balcony chairs. quite clearly the balcony was another 50 feet that was inoperable. ||||it should be noted that the bedding was comfortable & the bathroom quite spacious. the coffee maker ,which isn't a NESSPRESSO as listed on their website sufficed. the fridge was smaller than a college dorm fridge, which was quite saddening.note there are no ice machines & one must call the front desk for ice. the ice is delivered in a non lined bucket which is unsanitary. the flooring is dirty for after they wash it, the whole room is sprayed w/some sort of perfumed spray. this is not hypoallergenic & causes all shoes & slippers to get even dirtier!!!! these were the best & only part of the room we utilized. therefore upon checkout i requested 1/4 of the bill to be refunded. my request was denied & we were only refunded the 3 days of resort fees. ||||i hope the tibits of info i've detailed help future guests as this is why i've written this review.
Upon arrival and throughout our stay, the valet staff was very friendly and assisted with a smile. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful with assisting us to and from the wedding events at the hotel. We couldn’t adjust our thermostat and within minutes the front desk had someone to come and assist us late at night. Housekeeping was very attentive and friendly. The room was comfortable, stocked with great palette pleasers (both beverages and snacks) and great views. We had an amazing time and will always stay at the Wave. The rates are somewhat expensive, but we definitely got what we paid for in service, location, room accommodations, amenities, EVERYTHING!
Was a really great stay! You are paying for a beautiful location. The rooms are very nice, but not WOW. Staff is really great and responsive. There were some minor issues that all the staff were dedicated to addressing. Lots of food options. This was our second stay and would definitely come again!
Booked a reservation online for a Deluxe suite, 1 king Bed Balcony/terrace etc.. it was the most expensive one available at the time and all the pics online show this particular room having a beautiful Ocean view. I always scroll through pics to get a visual of what I can expect before booking any room. The day I checked in, my room wasn’t an ocean view, I had a view of the highway and the building next to the hotel. So I went back down to the front desk to see if this could be resolved. I was told they didn’t have any more Ocean view rooms available and even if the pictures online showed this particular room having an ocean view, the room has to state in the details that there’s a view of the ocean. So I basically paid all this extra money thinking I was getting a room with an Ocean view but instead I got a room where I can watch cars drive up & down the highway. I think that’s very shady & deceiving to put pics up of rooms containing ocean views when that’s not the case. Those pics should only be used for rooms that actually have a view of the ocean. Front desk associate was also non compassionate and sharp. I use to like this place but this will probably be my last time booking here, there’s many other beach hotels who are more considerate & nonshady. Also newly added super high resort fee charge, and they also now charge almost $60 per day to park which use to be free for hotel guest. That was a pleasant surprise to go along with my non-Ocean view room
HORRIBLE! our check confirmation said that we could come at 12:00 am so when we showed up after a wedding extremely late at night the lady by the check in told us that we could only check in tommorrow at 4. she was nice and did call hotels in the area to help us find a room which she did find for us, 20 min away and it cost us another 250 dollars plus the whole process left us stranded the next day as check out was at 10 and the wave didn't let us come till 4! They deserve the one star they got since the receptionist sandra was really nice and the hotel itself was fine, but the exprience - stay far away
This was our first stay at the wave and we will be back. The room was clean and comfortable and the view was fabulous. The staff is wonderful; From Alex who checked us in with a professional and friendly demeanor, Jamal who was a good sport bringing our car several times, Madison who is THE friendliest spa concierge I've ever met, and George and Emily who had wonderful and positive energy along with awesome massages! |A special shout out to Craig , the regional manager, for special accommodations which made our stay just perfect. Perhaps the room could use a desk and chair, resort fee should be eliminated when there is no pool or beach service, and we can lower that parking fee but it would not deter us from coming back :)
For the second year now we had a beautiful ocean front room with a balcony to sip wine and take in the view. Beds are very comfortable. Everything was clean. Had a great massage at the spa, breakfast on site at the cafe, walks on the beach and boardwalk, a perfect getaway.
