Small Japanese hibachi restaurant with table side cooking. They offer a kids menu, which was a perk for us! Soup and salad didn't taste great. We were expecting miso soup but it tasted like diluted chicken bouillon with raw mushrooms and noodles. The salad was drenched in dressing. The food prepared table side, however, is VERY good with an amazing price point. It's so much food! You will go home with leftovers unless you're eating after running a marathon.
The chef really entertained the kids. We had a great time.
This was our first time eating here and we were very impressed. The food was very tasty. I had the chicken and steak combo. The steak was very flavorful and cooked perfectly to our preference. The chicken was sweet and full of flavor as well. The fried rice, vegetables and noodles that come with the meal were fantastic. And they offer a variety of sauces you can request to go with your meal. The price is reasonable and the waitress we had was pleasant and attentive. This is our new favorite Japanese steak house in the area and we absolutely will be back!
Fair price for really good food. I've been here twice and it is my new go to in KC area. Recommended.
Edited to add photos. Come here so frequently now. Highly recommend.
Me & Hubby had 4 visits to this restaurant and they have very poor service skills when it comes to people of color. The waiter at the sushi bar always gives us an unwelcoming look every time we visit. The Japanese waitress is also very rude every time we come. We went today (March 12, 2024) the chef actually came up front and greeted us, he was the only one respectful, no one in the front was. The two Caucasian women seated together were treated great, as well as the Caucasian women on the other side of us. The man at the sushi bar even greeted and chatted with a family that is another race. The other tables had bigger portions of fried rice served to them…waitress brought water with limes out for others but we were served plain water. Other tables were all checked on…they received conversation and smiles but not me and my husband. We were looked over the whole time. No convo, barely received words when we asked questions, plus the waitress overpriced our meal. She charged us more than others. She gave us a menu with higher prices than the other menus. We grabbed another menu from the table the waitress sits and works at and the other menus had cheaper prices. Their behavior is unacceptable every time we come in. Even though they have good food, we will not be returning to this restaurant. The food is not worth the horrible treatment. You have to pray for people and pray harder for people like this.
Just left here after wait AN HOUR to receive soup and nothing else. Don't waste your time going here. They offered no compromise for making us wait an hour. Also the African American couple who was next to us was there forever and they were not served either. They claimed we didn't get our food because of the receipt order but we were all well ahead of them.
Overall the food is legit. The salmon skin you will not go wrong on ???? but man they seem understaffed and the wait for 6 sushi rolls did take 45-55min. Atmosphere was chill and set for family dining or date night!
Sushi was great!!
Fast and yummy, the onion soup was very good but the mushroom soup taste like a chicken bullion in water with raw mushrooms.
Everything else was good
Service was great, we were seated expeditiously and my Bloody Mary was brought within minutes. Their foreign beer selection was also great and delicious. Steak was ordered at medium well and well I can say it was delivered. Chicken was also tender and my sisters raves about the sauce in which is was marinated. All in all we had a great time here celebrating my sister’s birthday even though we did not catch the shrimp with our mouths we much appreciated the show.
