Hello I just want to express my thoughts on something so this company posted a job on indeed for p&d delivery driver so I applied to it had a call for interview then I get there and talked to Brett which was a very nice guy but then he was telling me that the easiest way to get in there would be through line haul so I say ok I will take that position then I came there for p&d which they had an ad for but got put into this that’s fine so when I call the recruiter Keith about that job 1 week later he says there not going to hire for that now then 2 days later I find the line haul job on indeed so I call Kieth he wants to tell me that it’s just an ad not a job posting and now I see the p&d job again I don’t know what the issue is but I’m highly qualified for both positions because I done both in the 27 years that I’ve been driving class A so I am just saying that don’t know why they are doing what they are doing
Loved the delivery driver. Very friendly and helpful. Didn’t like the fact that my pinball machine was stored for 10 days outside in the heat and humidity on a loading dock until it got delivered. Gotta be a better way to do business than that! I was fine waiting for the 10 days until delivery but I was very uneasy about the machine being stored out basically in the heat and humidity of the hottest part of summer for 10 days. Ugh! ????
Well let's see, a driver pulled up in front of our shop, parked in a handicap spot, on a yellow curb, parked on the WRONG side of the road & knocked half our tree down. Got out, looked at it & then just drove off.....I have pics.
Was told I would receive a call an hour beforehand so that I had sufficient time to get someone to the house to sign. At 10:30 I get a call that they are almost there-great but no one else is. He said he was new and missed the message on the paper to call me. He would try to squeeze me in this evening. I said fine if it’s evening but today was the only day this week I could make this work. He then said he’d complete his next delivery (in Coraopolis which is 20 minutes away) and come back. I make my call and have the person waiting at my house for what I figure to be an 11:30 delivery. 12:30 rolls around so I call the main number. She tells me that according to his GPS he’s on his way to me for 1:15p. Not great but what else can I do. 1:30p and nothing, so I call again and guess what-he’s on his way to me and will be there at 2:10… Funny how he’s been on his way to me this whole time. Customer Service states it’s policy not to contact the driver so there was no way to verify if he’s actually coming to me next. Thankfully he did arrive about 2:05. Dom seemed like a nice guy and said he was new and that’s why he missed the note to call. But I paid $250 for this delivery and cost someone doing me a favor nearly 3 additional hours of their time. Never. Again.
I arrived here at night and see this sign to call and get help with a trailer I came to drop off, and there was no answer on the phone. What's the point of having this sign there if there are people working inside who can help?
Love it or hate it, the trucking business can be very stressful or very rewarding depending on the day and all that's going on in the world.
We should be thankful for what they've been through the last couple years with so many businesses closed and customers angry because everyone wants the world to revolve around their delivery.
Keep all of these service providers in your prayers every day because they are essential and when the country was basically shut down with Covid scares these drivers were still out making deliveries. They are the unsung heroes that don't get enough credit in our country. They are right up there with police and firefighters.
Without a working supply chain we have no country. They are not perfect but those who are called to do this job should be given credit for their service. Lots of long hours and ungrateful people to deal with, but also others that appreciate all that they do.
Prayers for the trucking companies!
????????????
Not a wonderful yard for OTR truck backing but not the worst we have seen. I don't know about other GPSs but google maps and our Qualcomm bring us right into the yard with the Freeport address so not sure what is going on with all the folks saying otherwise. But if you do find yourself having an issue, they are right to say the entrance is on Beta.
People are always friendly here and we haven't had to wait on a load, yet. As a small disclaimer, we havent had to do many loads with them so pur experience may or may not be the norm. We don't mind seeing this place on our route, aside from it taking a thousand years to get our backing done because of the tightness. But for how small the yard is, they do try. Not like Fedex with the trailers everywhete except in a spot haha
This company for as large as they are is terrible! Our suppliers have been notified we no longer accept shipments if they are sent through Ward. There is hardly anyone available to talk to if you do get a person they have no idea how to help you and want to transfer you to someone who doesn't answer the phone and doesn't return phone calls. They were to change our shipment to pickup because their delivery times are so far out. We were told we couldn't pick up until they called and said it was ready several days later no phone call and Noone knows what's going on. Our customer is delayed and it's up to us to give the customer a credit for delay yet it should be Ward footing the bill.
