Best KPortal Reviews
We dined at Wakuda last night for a late dinner prior to our show at the Wynn. The restaurant boasts an extravagant ambiance with dim lighting but enough to enjoy our meal. The decor, color and layout was contemporary Japanese with two massive sumo wrestler statues. The service was exceptional and our waiter was knowledgeable on the menu items as well as all of the servers and attendants. We had the seafood ceviche and several sushi rolls for dinner which were all different in taste and flavor as well as very pleasing to the palate. Our cocktail was amazing and delicious in taste as well. I did have to wait a while for the waiter to take my card for the bill and my only other con was with one sushi roll which I find was a bit too salty. There may also be the possibility that the soy sauce was saltier than what I’m used to as well.
It was an overall great experience and we do plan on returning.
We walked in here last minute for a meal before our Beatles Love show. We did not expect anything with no prior knowledge of the kitchen. Boy, did they surprise and deliver one of our most memorable meals in Vegas. While we were sitting there, the artist that created all the pieces happened to sit next to us. Also, it is an amazing pleasant surprise as the artwork is sensationally detailed. Pics of the experience speak for themselves. Bar service was amazing.
I would have given this more than 5 stars if I could! I rarely even give 5 stars. The quality of the ingredients and the well thought out dishes was so delicious. The service was impeccable. Our waiter knew the history of the dishes and drinks. Loved that each dish was explained when they were served. Room was pretty dark so I didn't take pictures of the dishes. I did take a video of the dessert. Best dining experience so far!
Japan's Two star Michelin starred Chef Tetsuya Wakuda is a Culinary genius! His French technique, along with his philosophy of shun, is evident in every single bite. I've been eating sushi for over 38 years and have been to many restaurants that are amazing, but I have to say this may be my number one Japanese restaurant in the United States. We were absolutely blown away by each and every plate set before us. From the warm greeting from our hostess through the dark and mysterious hallway that leads you to an elegant yet modern dining room with two fabulous sumo wrestler statues ready for the good fight, the sushi chefs in the back, and the chefs by the huge grill behind the glass wall it's a fabulous atmosphere along with absolute impeccable service from several staff who work like a well oiled machine and explained in detail what and where your meal came from. I can't say enough except we will be back!
Came here during their social hour and enjoyed an awesome selection of well valued items, including a sake carafe as well as many small bites. I especially enjoyed their grilled salmon and their fried cod bites. Service is friendly and vibes are a bit edgy.
Two weeks ago we visited the Venetian for the Kylie Minogue residency, Dita von Teese, burlesque, and drag brunch… We went to Wuda and planned to have the multicourse chefs meal. Our server Jeromy asked if he could make some recommendations… Then learned our likes and dislikes and if anything on the menu grabbed us?? He ended up creating what turned out to be Plates! Every single time a plate was brought to us. we were absolutely wowed by the presentation and more, so the taste! There is a beautiful sculpture in the middle of the restaurant, all the staff is very friendly and inviting. We went back a second time ha ha ha not knowing any other service, Jeromy is an absolute star – try to sit with him for sure, it’s a culinary experience.
Just not great. Very expensive. Flavors were just ok. Tempura wasnt great. Overall had a lot better sushi etc at much cheaper price. Extremely loud and annoying music gave me a headache and made it difficult to talk. For sure not worth the price. First and last time trying a Michelin starred restaurant. $500 + for two people and ordered a pizza later because it just wasn’t that satisfying or good.
This will be the best Japanese food you can find in a long distance. Prepare to spend a lot of money if you want to try multiple things. They serve up smaller plates of food, like tapas. The fatty tuna dishes, Chutoro, were unreal I have never tasted anything like that before. I don’t even like Salmon but the New Zealand King Salmon sushi was delicious. Kanpachi Carpaccio was great! And the Seabass Miso was our favorite. I have never eaten anything like these dishes before. You NEED to finish off the meal with the shaved ice. Doesn’t matter how full you are. I rated it 4 stars because everything our waiter talked about was a complete upsell. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure he was pointing us to good food, but it just felt forced to the point where it got annoying. Overall great experience though. Would recommend, most money I’ve ever spent at a dinner though. A lot of amazing restaurants are half the price.
