Best KPortal Reviews

In the interest of your time, money, and health—I’d recommend going to any other group of doctors. Although the front desk staff was as helpful as they can be, this place is clearly only interested in squeezing their patients out of as much money as possible. After three visits to see different doctors they referred me to (and no useful information or recommendations to improve my condition), I realized they will order unending tests and offer unending referrals without creating any real treatment plan or diagnosis. Between my 3 visits they have ordered 18 tests (literally)—which of course isn’t feasible and likely isn’t necessary. So many tests that they have actually ordered the same tests twice (within a month). Between these 3 visits I’ve also received 9 referrals to different members of their team—half of which I already have covered by doctors externally (who I’ve received better more legitimate care from). I’m surprised there aren’t more negative reviews as this is one of the worst experiences I’ve had seeking care.
TLDR: DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!!!! Even if it's a "small issue," you're getting checked out, DO NOT COME HERE!! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE SEEKING A SERIOUS DIAGNOSIS FOR YOUR CHRONIC ISSUES because you will wait a long time for horrible horrible care! It isn't worth it!
Read every bad review below me because I had the exact same issue. Please do not go here - the technicians are not skilled!
This place causes you unnecessary health anxiety due to their unskilled technicians who perform imaging tests, EKGs, ultrasounds, etc. incorrectly, thus causing you to retest, retest, follow up, retest again and again. Makes me think all they care about is billing you and purposefully screwing your tests over so that they can bill you again to redo it!
Btw the tests you take? Sometimes it takes 10 days to get the results back (even if it's something as serious as an ultrasound checking for blood clots to your brain), and sometimes you don't even get them back at all!
You may be thinking, it's not just the technicians who suck, right? The doctor I saw sucked too! I saw an actual neurologist after 1 month of getting a million tests, and instead of being patient with all the questions I had, he shooed me off. The 1 month appointment I waited so long for was over in 10 minutes, to which 0 questions about my health were answered. Also, he was a jerk which echoes everyone else's comments of this place being a business rather than a place of CARE!
You will get the slowest most uncaring service here. Do not go!
I showed up on time for my 1pm appointment and as a first time patient, I walked in and sat down because there was someone ahead of me. 3 different receptionist sat there and not one asked me my name, information or who I was supposed to see and my reasoning for being there. I kept getting up to talk to one but none of them directed me as to what the next steps were for check in I waited so long that finally at 1:20 when one of them acknowledged me, they told me that I missed my appointment and no one could see me. They let me miss my appointment while waiting in the waiting room! I passed out at work because of my asthma and wanted to be seen asap and this clinic wanted my time but was sure to take my insurance card and information. This place is a joke. I should have read the reviews before I booked
I only left one star because there aren't any lower ratings possible. I left my PCP for a facility that has everything in one place, and close to home. I stumbled into this palace that said they provides almost everything and was exited. However after just a few short months of dealing with them, I recommend going someplace else. The main number leads to a new jersey office switch board and these people are rude as can be. They have young ladies working for them that don't know how to speak to people and never get back to you unless you owe a co pay, or to for you to pay for a cancellation for an appointment made without your knowledge. The Columbus avenue receptionist are always helpful and nice but once you get to the doctors, they just want to make you spend every penny and not let you know that a fee is required if you accept. It's like they say here, take this and that next thing you know you owe $200 dollars. Everybody is a specialist supposedly and just want to write a prescription, such as running up stair and experiencing temporary shortness of breath because of it. Did I mention you can never get anyone on the phone and no call backs. I don't feel comfortable as they are always looking at me like I have a disease but I am in great health physically, mentally.and have an OCD for being clean and smelling nice. I don't recommend using them as it will frustrait you into taking medicine. They remind me of those doctor that drug addicts use to go to in the 90's for free meds to charge your insurance. Do yourself a favor look some place else
One star because NONE is not an option. Because we are taught to give good feedback first, I will start there. Since it has taken me some time to find a PCP, I am grateful for the testing and the convenience of LabCorp. When I change healthcare providers, they will have less to do. I was grateful that most of the testing could be scheduled on site as well. However, their machines were old and dusty.....Literally. I have Never seen such filthy medical equipment. The tech who took my pressure had to change arm cuffs because they were all so old and worn. I also was not aware that an EKG required the technician to Drape Themselves over the Entire Lower Half of The Patient's Body....!!!....???? They "claimed" that "there was not enough space in the room" and 'had no choice", but I disagree and was Extremely uncomfortable. I couldn't wait to shower. On my first visit, the internist I saw prescribed a medication that had the side effect, Severe Swelling of the Face. I was Never told this. Now, I understand that as caretakers of our own health, we are to educate ourselves about All Medications. However, this Should have been mentioned due to its severity. After one week on the med, I woke up, and my face was swollen Beyond Recognition....!!! Went to TWO specialists who had No Clue, and I was put on a Strong steroid for five days. On my follow-up visit, as I tried to explain to the internist what had happened, I was somewhat given the brush off. After continuing to explain and producing a photo, they mumbled something about this being a side effect and changed my formula. Again, I understand that medicine can be a subjective science, but at least share the information you know. I let the internist know that I will be changing providers. It is unfortunate that this is such a blatant example of medical care for sale. Continue searching....
Note to Owner: Although the fact that you respond to these reviews could be considered admirable, I have already read your copy/paste version twenty times. There is no need to respond.
Terrible service. Doctor didn’t listen to my needs at all. Gave me a referral for multiple things I already have, went in for a physical only to be sent to lab corps to draw blood. I’ve never been to a clinic where they send you to another location for simple physical blood work up. At this point after seeing all the reviews, this place just needs to be shut down or get better new staff ????????‍♀️
PLEASE NOTE: I only gave 1 star because zero wasn't an option.
So, I seldom write Yelp reviews because I hate this platform and regard it as the digital mafia. I'm writing now to warn others of these scammers.
Only giving 1 star because 0 is not an option.
I went almost 5 years ago, simply because I needed a primary care doctor. I've never found a decent one in my entire nearly 3 decades of living in NYC and this was a convenient location for another attempt. It was just a roll of the dice. The doctor--I forget her name--was extremely rude and dismissive. She didn't listen to anything I said and prescribed a bunch of very expensive specialty tests--which they conveniently do on-site, hmmm. I should have known better than to listen to any doctor who doesn't respect their patients and also a primary care doctor prescribing tests only specialists should be prescribing (and which no actual specialists, and I've seen many, have ever prescribed or even mentioned.
For some reason I can't now fathom, I went ahead with the tests anyway because it seemed like possibly good information to have and--importantly--because they claimed to have checked with my insurance and confirmed they'd all be covered.
Well, they lied. They never even sent me the results of the tests and instead sent me a bill for $600 because my insurance company denied coverage. The names of the prescribing doctors for the specialty testing weren't even doctors who'd talked to me, much less examined me.
I'd written it all off as a terrible experience and an expensive punishment for a terrible judgment call on my part, except that just now--nearly 5 years later--I get a robocall from them telling me the importance of regular health screenings and how I need to make an appointment with them. That was simply adding insult to injury. I'm sick to death of scammy, unethical doctors and there seem to be more and more as time goes on.
TL;DR VERSION: PLEASE BEWARE AND AVOID THIS PLACE. I see from other reviews some have had a decent experience. Which is great for them. But my advice is, just be safe and go somewhere else you know for sure won't scam you.
This is a place of business, not a doctors office. I had originally intended on going to the offices at W14 Medical Arts for a general pulmonology checkup. What ensued from my visit was a deeply stressful visit to a lackluster office that was designed as a business raking in cash rather than prioritizing patients over revenue.
The doctor I had originally booked on Zocdoc was not who I'd seen upon arriving at the office. They'd informed me that in order to pass through the system I'd need to be evaluated by a PA first. The PA gave me a litany of tests I had never received at any previous pulmonology appointments. Upon an intern administering me an EKG, they had to repeat the test multiple times due to errors, and during testing other workers entered the room and casually had conversation while I was topless.
After conversing with the PA and taking my EKG (which felt out of place for a lung appointment), I performed a breathing test. Upon completing the test, the woman who entered the room refused to tell me how I performed on the test and was insistent I needed to see the doctor at a later date to get answers on my test. As someone with years of pulmonology visits, I've NEVER been told I'd need to wait to get the general, "your breathing test looked great" answer I was desperately looking for.
Upon exiting the office the front desk was excited to offer me a list of appointments they insisted I needed. Those appointments included:
- A blood test
- A visit with the PA
- A visit with the Pulminologist
- A visit with the Cardiologist
- A visit to test my breathing abilities and heart abilities on a treadmill
- A visit to test my allergies
The list goes on, and as someone with no history of heart issues, the pressure put on me to make me feel like I had some underlying condition that no other doctor has pointed out in the last year filled me with anxiety.
Overall this office is a clear indicator of the direction the medical system in this country is going towards. W14 Medical Arts is a place of business, not a place of healthcare. If you want to see a doctor who is interested in your needs and not shareholder needs, I'd take massive caution in entering the W14 Medical Arts Offices.
