I can't think of one bad experience here. The atmosphere was phenomenal! The staff supercede excellent! The food was amazing! The drinks we delicious! If you can find it I promise you will enjoy it. Make a reservation.
Went here with my partner for our anniversary, and it did not disappoint! Excellent drinks, food, service- nothing to complain about. Great aesthetics indoors, and an immersive experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!
Get a reservation.. heheh was visiting for a business trip and it was honestly a fun time. Great staff and the cocktails were amazing. Go behind the building and you'll find the door. Great prices for drinks
A very fun speakeasy with lovely cocktails and a nice food menu. We really enjoyed the Prohibition-era vibe. I had pork posole which was the special that night, and it was quite good. Also loved the flourless chocolate torte. Our server wasn't super-engaged, but we'd still go back.
Surprisingly fantastic food was exceptional and went twice. Second time was for Mother’s Day celebration and there was a jazz band. Very nice time.
10/10. This place checks all the boxes for date night! The Speakeasy vibes are so on point. The drinks are delicious and my husband and I could have ordered everything off the food menu if we could. It seems like one of those menus where you can’t go wrong. We actually got lucky enough to catch a burlesque show and we just had the best time! I always find a speakeasy when we visit new cities and this was definitely the best yet.
I was "Over the Moon" about this place. We went for Mother's Day and although it was hard to find, it was worth it. The food was excellent, so were the drinks! The Jazz band brought memories about Chicago and good music. The singer Katia really knew her "stuff"! I'm a senior and was probably the only senior there, but a lot of younger people showed up.
It's a speak easy and well done from start to finish. It's difficult to find down a back alley, around the corner, no signage, steel door with a sliding slot for viewing guests when they knock, and a red light above the door. Once inside, IDs are checked and you proceed down the stairs to another door; once opened, you travel back in time to prohibition with candles on tables providing much of the light, old Hollywood photos covering the walls, fancy cocktails, and more speak easy decor. The atmosphere is great!
During our latest visit, the band was far too loud, especially the saxophone, which didn't sound good either (that said, a second sax showed up, sounded brilliant, and was even louder). It ruined the evening, because the four of us couldn't hear one another talk at all. I like good music, but I didn't come to Volstead's for a concert. We ended up drinking less, leaving early, and failing to enjoy ourselves as much as we planned.
