Best KPortal Reviews

My husband and I spent our first wedding anniversary in Chicago this weekend. We are big lovers of Italian food and found this restaurant after a quick google search.
The atmosphere upon entering was electric. We timed it right and were seated right away. We were given menus and large wine list, then a cocktail menu upon request. Service was fast and personable. The meal that followed was immaculate. Each bite and sip had depths of flavor one could only dream of — which I will be doing until I have the honor of returning.
List of items ordered:
Drinks:
Doc Yates
El Bandido Diavolo
Summer Gin
Food Items:
Bruschetta Italiano
Fettuccine alla Bolognese
Spaghetti al Pomodoro
Pollo Arrosto alla Diavola
Tiramisu and Cannolis
I love it! 9.5/10 recommend!
Alex served me with his whole heart! He check with me all the time if there is anything that I needed. And the pasta he recommends was delicious!
Wasn’t a big fan of the seafood salad, too vinegary for me. But I am so in love with the
ink paste! WOW! How fresh the noodles! I already noticed when I was waiting for the table, the noodles are all fresh! And the sauce for the pasta, so yum. I also love the desert, so creamy and perfect with the fruits!
I kinda don’t understand why this restaurant has so many good reviews. Maybe I went at the wrong time?
I made my reservation but it was a pretty busy hour, and I felt very rushed by the server, who was very rude. When I asked for his recommendation, it was evident that he was impatient.
I have to say the food was mediocre - the sauce tastes pretty much the same as what I can cook at home. I forgot the Italian name of what I ordered but it’s the pasta with peas, mushrooms, and pork.
Overall do not recommend this restaurant at all. I feel that you can easily find better Italian restaurants in Chicago.
Basic chicken Parmesan but it’s tasty and hits the spot.
The Neapolitan pizza though is actually really really good - cheese is very flavorful, more than your standard Neapolitan since they use low moisture mozzarella. The chew on the crust too is perfect. Highly recommend.
I would give 3.5 ⭐️
Dinner was for three, booked a table in advance. Boarding and service were fast (no complaints here).
Food - we didn’t like everything, the carpaccio was excellent, the tiramisu too. Lasagna and pizza were too salty. I didn’t like the ice cream either, it was absolutely nothing.
What we didn’t like most of all was the rather aggressive service, aimed at quickly expelling guests from the table: before we even had time to finish eating, the plates were literally torn out of our hands to be removed; we had to constantly say that we hadn’t finished eating yet. At the same time, the staff remained nearby and literally waited for us to finish our meal. When they brought the bill without our request, the feeling that we were being kicked out only worsened.
This is the only thing that really spoiled the evening, everything else was at the same level - excellent and acceptable.
food is PHENOMENAL. i ordered the ‘Spaghetti Neri Al Pesce’ AKA the black squid ink spaghetti. the flavors were so good. my partner ordered the salmon! the complimentary bread is very delicious as well. the service here is wonderful and really makes you feel as if you’re in Italy!
again and again people make a difference ! i came in after many years and they made a table for me even if i had no reservation ! they older owner/boss is still in charge and that you see/notice in all things! service of all people was really great but specially destiny, i hope i have her name good ! thanks you all for a great night
Overall, the dishes we ordered were great. We had two cocktails, one appetizer, two main dishes and one dessert to share. It was about $180 before tips. Cocktail was pricy, it wasn’t that good. Risotto volare highly recommend! Steak was tender and soft but sauce was too strong and salty.
