Whatever the sub lacks in this fast paced sub world, this place makes up for it by being called “honey” or “sweetie” or “handsome young man” by the incredibly lovely Nonna at the counter is worth everything and then some.
Protect this woman at all costs. If you call, expect it to take a minute. Do whatever it takes to just check this place out.
Definitely add artichokes to your prosciutto and mozzarella, and have a soda you’re not sure what this liquid is. Just do it.

I Googled a sub shop near me and this location popped up. I regret not knowing about them sooner.
As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the lovely Darlene. She was pure joy. She recommended their special, which I declined, but she was so accommodating and friendly. She went over the toppings and options with me with a smile on her face. Honestly, her customer service took this review from 4 to 5 stars. I'd go here any day over a Subway or Jimmy John's.
The sandwich was amazing. I got 2 turkey and cheese subs. 1 was smoked turkey and 1 was oven roasted. The bread was fresh and the outside was crispy but the inside was soft and chewy. The quality of the meat was top tier deli meat. It was so fresh. Everything was just good. This will be my go-to shop now for subs sandwiches.
There’s no words to describe how great the hero/hoagies/sub are you won’t be disappointed frfr! I order the daily special turkey sub made with fresh pesto and mozzarella I added lettuce and got some hot peppers on the side????????????????the lady is super sweet you can feel the love no joke will always and forever be my spot????????
This classic sub shop is a definite must if you are hunting for a sandwich around lunchtime. Very simple sandwiches that are flavorful and carefully crafted. Everyone who works there is super nice as well.
Prices are pretty extremely reasonable, too — so there is almost no reason to go to a Jimmy John’s or Potbelly’s for a worse, more expensive sandwich.
There are better known Italian deli's in town, especially in West Town and West Loop. Why is this under the radar is beyond me. These subs are phenomenal. In fairness, I've only ordered the Italian House Specialty, so I can't comment on the others. But dang, it's SO good. This place is no frills, but I wouldn't have it any other way. And a great value. Do yourself a favor, and skip past those others and give this a whirl. You can thank me later. Ok, my mouth is watering.
Amazingly delicious classic subs. I'm a big sub sandwich person and this place delivers some fantastic sandwiches and the cashier, Darlene was such a delight. Definitely recommend!
The subs are good. The main problem I have is the system that is in place. I watch 8 people get there sandwiches before me even tho I place them my order first, these were not pre orders. When she called out an order that I thought was mine but wasn’t, the owner pointed at me and said “ I knew it wasn’t you”. I thought she was going by the order of how customer place their order. I understand it got busy but if she needs help she should get it or set up a better system. Not really fair that I had to wait 30 min while the last person waited about 5 mins for their sub.
The subs were tasty!!! I got the smoked turkey and the Italian sub. The lady running the sub shop was really sweet. Vinnie’s was a super small sub shop. I got there at 11:22am and walked out at 12:02pm. It took 40 mins to get the 5 subs. The guy in front of me had a 30 sub order and so many grub hub and uber eats drivers kept coming in to pick up online orders; plus other people kept coming in off the street to get a sub. The phone kept ringing and the lady wasn’t answering the phone. LOL She shut all the online food delivery services off because they were too busy. It was kind of funny actually.
