Clean place, friendly people, but the food is very bland. Example: Fried chicken had no flavor, either in the chicken nor the breading. Gravy was also flavorless. Sad because it's a cute little local place that is run exactly like a cafeteria, with trays and loose utensils and the whole getup. Try somewhere else.
We are staying at a campground about 15 minutes from this place and after setting up it was suggested to eat here. It is pretty easy to find and located in almost a downtown area. It is set up just as you would think a carefteria would be. After you get your tray you get to choose your food and desert. We had chicken vegetables and cube steak. We also got strawberry cake. The price was really good for all that we good and the food was great. It is your meat and three country style restaurant. The staff were all super nice and helpful. It was very typical of country restaurant. The restaurant had wood walls and ceiling which added to the look of it. It was cute, tasty, friendly and a great opportunity to visit a local mom and pop place. Would definitely go back. The menu options change each day so we are sure we will back to try some more food.
Food is always great at the village. This was first time I've been in years.
The food here is astronomical and very good price best chicken livers around. I Payed 35.59 for a 2meat 4 veg a 2 meat 2veg and a 1meat you get alot
ALOT OF FOOD
I really enjoy this place for the most part. I, like many other people, have high blood pressure. Everything here is over salted. I had chicken and dressing today. The gravy had so much salt that is all you could taste. I've complained about other dishes before. Last visit for me. Plus the owner can be abrasive to put it nicely. I can't believe she keeps employees.
Rode our motorcycles to Village Cafeteria for lunch. The food was great, the employees friendly and helpful. We had a great time. I highly recommend Village Cafeteria!
We were staying at a local campground and the owner recommend Village Cafeteria. It takes you right back to the 70's and early 80's. You grab a tray and your silverware. Walk up to the Cafeteria line and tell the servers what you want. The other review hit the nail on the head when it said they have the down home food all the church ladies used to make. They even bake up several homemade cakes. I asked the lady what type of frosting was on the coconut cake and she said "it's 3-minute frosting the kind your granny used to make." It was the best coconut cake I've had. We just loved the down home feel of this place. Takes you back to warm comforting times of the past when life was slow, good food from your older relatives was plentiful, waiting to fill you up. It's so good I'll probably go back tomorrow too. The ladies working were as nice as can be. Very highly recommend to anyone in the area or passing thru.
