Best KPortal Reviews
Bubble tea was made with powder, which is normally okay but they used way too much so it was crazy sweet and still had a bunch of powder at the bottom. It seems to be a common topic in reviews but I thought I'd give it a shot.
The pho was okay, packaged nicely for takeout. The special of the day was salmon rolls but they tasted like they were just about to go bad and the lettuce inside was pretty brown.
The banh mi was without doubt the best part of the meal
We've been here 10+ times and the food quality and service is great every time! The pho is amazing, we usually get shrimp and veggie/tofu and we always get an order or 2 of the crispy vietnamese rolls. Consistant great quality all the time. Tried the drunken noodles and the banh mi once and both were very good but we always go back to the pho. They also have bubble tea which I believe is made from the powder but it tastes great. I definitely recommend the mango. We've gotten other flavors and they were good too but I don't remember which ones. We always do take out but they do have tables for dining in and they always have open tables.
My family and I enjoy coming here a lot. We mainly come to get pho and the springrolls. I had never had an issue with the freshness of the food. It all tastes good. My little kids love it!
I must warn potential diners about my horrific experience at Van's Cafe, a Vietnamese restaurant that left me utterly disgusted and appalled. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, but nothing could have prepared me for the nightmare that ensued. The staff, particularly the old lady in charge, was shockingly rude and dismissive. Upon ordering, I was overcharged for a beef pho that was not only exorbitantly priced but also pathetically portioned. To make matters worse, the pho tasted like a nauseating sensation that lingered long after leaving the premises. Adding insult to injury, the table I was seated at was disgustingly dirty and greasy, a clear indication of the restaurant's utter lack of hygiene standards. Consuming the contaminated pho proved to be a grave mistake, as my stomach revolted and I suffered from severe nausea and vomiting shortly thereafter.
In all my years of dining out, I have never encountered such a vile establishment. I implore anyone considering dining at this place to heed this warning and avoid this place at all costs. It is not only a waste of money but also a risk to one's health and wellbeing.
I love to get phó from this place. The owner is so sweet, and she makes sure I have everything I need. The food is always fresh tasting when she makes it.
Pho is always very good here. Love the broth and the fresh vegetables. I've also had the vermicelli and drunken noodles and they've always been another favorite.
Small spot with a friendly, intimate atmosphere. Pho was piping hot and delicious! Dumplings beforehand were excellent as well.
Unlike other spots on Penn Ave, this one was reasonably priced!
I will definitely be going back!
The best pho I EVER had. I legit got more to take home- def gonna come back here if I ever visit Reading’s PA again.
