I’ve just been charged £4 for a medium bag of chips that were luke warm and didn’t taste very nice at all. God knows how long they’d been sat there. If you’re charging £4 for 2-3 potatoes at least make them hot and tasty. So disappointing.
I’ve tried fish and chips in several places even port places that should have had good fish and chips but none come even close to Vacara.
I asked the owner what his secret was and he said “clean oil and fresh fish” and this makes so much sense as to why it’s so amazing.

Best curry sauce I've ever had! Cracking food and lovely staff. Tempted to visit Newport for here alone

Not what it used to be. Expensive, staff openly moaning about everything, freezing cold in the restaurant. No kids portion options available, 80p a nugget, everything else fairly expensive! Come on, it's chips, not the Ritz.
I was surprised to pay £12 for small chips and curry sauce and coffee.
I’ve been going to vacaras for many years of my life now with family, by myself or with friends. Generally whenever I go into town I like to grab a cone of chips for myself and 9/10 times it’s always lovely
Prices have gone up everywhere so I would like if it was a little cheaper but it’s still a great chip shop and easily one of the top 10 in Newport without a doubt
