$15.00 for this that’s insane!!!!!! That’s worth maybe $5 it’s the size a kids portion if that!!!!! What else gets me is this is $15.00 and you get a tiny portion but to make it even worse you don’t get a side!! So we will not ever be ordering from here again!!! This is why places fail in Winterset because they do great for the first few weeks with taste and portions, then they don’t stay consistent!!!! I ordered the Mac and cheese in the first week or so of them opening. The portion was great and the flavor was amazing. Then ordered it 2-3 weeks later and the portion was the same but there was no flavor and missing some of the ingredients described. Then order it again this time trying to give them another chance and the portion was terrible and the flavor was still bland and even my 3 year old wouldn’t eat it!!!
We stopped in with no idea of the menu. We had the John Wayne casserole and the B3 Smash burger. The burger was great. And the John Wayne casserole was phenomenal! There wasn't a description on the menu, but the server described it accurately. So good!
Update: stopped in again for another John Wayne casserole. This time, when I told the server my selected side, she claimed that the John Wayne casserole was the only entree that didn't include one. Something about it being big and/or served on a skillet. It clearly states "choice of side" on the menu. Did I hallucinate 2 weeks ago?
We had the bacon Mac and cheese, french fries, breaded pork tenderloin, and a side Caesar salad. The Mac & Cheese was a little dry/powdery (I think because it might have had parmesan in it), but the over all favor was great. Loved the French Fries, they are almost as thin as chips with great seasoning. The Cesar salad was good, with a surprise hint of spice. The pork tenderloin was good, with the breading it tasted more chickeny (with this being Iowa I have had a lot of great and excellent pork tenderloins to compare to).
Excellent 5 stars. Great atmosphere,staff,food, and drinks. The brunch skillet is awesome,bloody Marys very well balanced, and the menu options will appeal to all tastes. They have very diverse drink menu for all to enjoy. The music playing while you eat was a great touch to the whole experience.
Went to Winterset to visit family and went to this new business. Atmosphere was unique, staff were all very personable and they had many tvs to watch. We did not eat this time but looked at a menu and will come back to eat next time. Highly recommend this quaint new place in Winterset.
The staff was so consumed with duties and talking that they just didn't welcome me or help. I didn't stick around to try anything because didn't feel welcomed. Finally when I was leaving someone greeted me. Even when greeting me the staff didn't seem very interested in helping or welcoming me.
I had the bacon blu burger and it was amazing. The fries were crispy and hot, yummy! Service was good and we had a good time. Only small thing would be a bigger serving size on the appetizer of onion rings. (Which were awesome, just wanted more!)
Food was amazing. Service was outstanding. This was our first time visiting and we will definitely be going back. Hearty portions of food. We order 4 appetizers and 1 cheese burger for 2 people. We had lots of food to go home with. ❤❤❤️❤️❤️❤️
