Amazing food here. Beautiful bit of meat and amazing sides. Cooked absolutely to perfection. Salad was fresh and delicious. Proper Caesar salad. Cornbread was awesome.
Honestly I had my doubts walking into this place. A previous examination of the menu gave the expectation that it would be an overpriced meal without much selection. However my wife wanted to give it a try so we did. Walking out I was very happy we had.
While the meal was very pricey, perhaps too pricy compared to other similar establishments nearby, the food quality was exceptional and the portion sizes ample. Not an overabundance impossible to finish but then enough to allow you to feel you were getting good value for the price.
Service from the moment you walked in through to the end was fantastic. Our main server, Justin was great and others jumped in when he was unavailable to keep the service flowing well.
The only oddity was the manager himself who gave ample attention to tables with special events but did not stop by any of the other tables to even acknowledge them. Kind of disappointing. He seemed disinterested in his job. The managers lack of friendliness, except to those with special events, was really the only disappointment of this establishment.
However as stated the regular staff more than made up for the managers very poor showing. The regular staff was all great.
The food itself was very flavorable and served in well presented ways. The meats were tender and juicy, the salad fresh and the side dishes were each presented perfectly. Some unique dishes such as the round cornbread and berries and apple cobbler rounded out the meal in a tasty way.
Upon departure I had been converted and found myself looking forward to returning to this restaurant in the future.
Don't be scared off the pricing as you do get value with the portion sizes they serve. And, aside from the manager, the service is fantastic.
We came here for a birthday celebration and were blown away by the food and service! The portions were great. The sides were amazing. Everything was fresh. From the cornbread to the birthday desert. We had a great experience!
I stopped into the Urban Farmer because it seemed appealing. The host was very kind in offering me seat. There was only one waiter at the time and he was assisting a party of about 10 to 12 so I had to wait about 5 minutes before my order was taken.
I ordered the Burger and a Bloody Mary. I wasn’t impressed with the Bloody Mary and the waiter told me at the time my order was taken that my burger should take about 7 minutes. We’ll surprise, my burger came out in 2 minutes. Even the waiter was surprised.
I knew exactly what was going on. The burger had been ordered previously and the customer didn’t want it. I was starving and needed to eat something immediately. My fries were not super hot.
I am so sorry that Urban Farmer felt that I deserved that type of treatment but I can assure you that I won’t ever revisit that establishment.
I passed through Union Station which had numerous restaurants that I could have eaten at but decided on Urban Farmer. Big mistake, HUGE mistake!
I stayed at the Oxford hotel and received $10 per night to use at the Urban Farmer, which is connected to the hotel, so I went for breakfast and dinner.
Breakfast - I sat at the bar and everything was perfect. Service was excellent. Coffee delicious. Pancakes absolutely perfect.
Dinner - I sat at a table and was less thrilled.
Service: I tried to ask the server what drink would go well with my dinner selection and he misunderstood (?) and started telling me about the menu. I'd already said I was going to get the skirt steak, simply because it was the smallest on the menu (8oz) & I couldn't eat more than that, but he still tried to tell me how amazing the bison was (18 and 20oz). He was quite pleasant and did come at appropriate times, so maybe it was just a misunderstanding. And he did tell me that I could get half order sides, which was helpful.
But then I heard the women at the table next to me ask for just 6oz of steak. I wish I'd known that I could get that small of an amount, but it was not listed on the menu, nor did my server mention it.
Food: The twigs & berries cocktail simply didn't work. I'm not sure if lime should ever go in a bourbon drink, but it did not work in this one, nor did lime go well with steak, but there weren't many other bourbon options.
The caesar had sardines, which was a great touch, and excellent quality dressing. I loved the cornbread. The mac & cheese was good. The steak's quality was perfect. Maybe a little oversalted, or maybe I was just thirsty. I felt the steak took a while to arrive, given the place was 80% empty, but it came perfectly medium, as I'd requested it, and was quite good.
Overall, it's a good restaurant. But for the extremely high prices, I'd expect closer to perfection. I'd had better experiences elsewhere in Denver at lower prices.
Happy hour was perfect great cocktails and great small bites for an affordable price. The deviled eggs, flatbread, and sliders were top notch.
The deviled eggs were fantastic. The farm fries were cooked perfectly but they came out so incredibly salty. We ordered another round with no salt the second time and they were much better. Outstanding blue cornbread, so flavorful. The bison and beef chili is packed full of spices and is a total treat. Perfectly cooked sea scallops. The sliders were a good side with amazing brioche buns.
The cobbler we ordered was made table side in such a style that everyone around us in the restaurant asked what we ordered- Not to mention it was amazing. Thank you Urban Farmer for exceeding what I believed this eating experience would be.
Excellent bison ribeye, excellent blue corn bread which is surprisingly tasty. Wagyu is solid. Appetizers are decent but unspectacular. Great quality food overall but not the best Denver has to offer
