We sat down and ordered our food. The burger seemed like it was made from old meat( you know the ground beef you should get rid of, but how you can slide it on by) and the fries were ice cold. The empanadas were hot but I didn’t like them. I told the man about the cold fries so he went and got another order which he clearly just put in the microwave. Smh. Understanding that you are getting ready to close but… if there are 10 tables with tv’s and one table with people sitting why not turn the other tv’s off first . I just got the feeling of nastiness from the lady working. I’m sure I won’t be going back. The guy that was our waiter seemed nice but service and food quality just did not balance.
I have been here a few times and service was always exceptional especially since they have some new faces.Corrine she is a new server and is extremely nice and kind. They have the best burgers and wings I recommend you check out this spot. And thank you Corrine you are awesome.
The menus on google are extremely out of date. Menu is small. Walked in and it smelled like a dirty bar. 1 person working. She was the hostess, waitress, food runner, and bartender. Ordered a water. They didn’t have ice. Pretty sure she scooped melted ice from the bottle of the ice bin. Water tasted like sewer. Ordered an ice tea. They hadn’t made it yet. New water with lemon. No lemons cut.
On to dinner. Salad came out and looked great. Chicken was cold and tasted old. Had to have been leftover from a previous day. $22 for a salad with chicken and I get old food.
I wouldn’t come back nor recommend this place. Order DoorDash.
Haley was our waitresss and she was excellent. My husband had a mushroom swiss burger and I just had some chicken tenders. They turned out really well, but Haley deserves the gold star! If not for her, I wouldn’t have even bothered leaving a review but she was so kind.
Atmosphere: The Underground Burger Bar is hidden in the basement of Holiday Inn. A basement isn't the most inviting place to go to eat. The place it self was nearly deserted; there was one guy at the bar, and I wasn't sure if he worked there or not. The gray decor made it feel like a sterile underground bunker that had been dressed up. 2/5 for atmosphere.
Staff: The staff was friendly and greeted us promptly. They had a good balance between making sure to wait on us and giving us space to think about what we wanted to order, and then space to enjoy our food. They were good about keeping the water cup full, and used that as an opportunity to clear dirty dishes, instead of making multiple trips. One employee was training our waiter, who was a little awkward, but still nice. 4/5 for staff.
Food: The food is good, especially the onion rings. It's nice to find good food in the same building where you're staying. There are many options for vegetarians; they have a variety of burgers on the menu and they can all be substituted for a veggie burger. If you are looking for a quick bite before your flight, this could be a good choice. 4/5 for food.
This is an odd place. It is in the basement of the Doubletree, and it was practically deserted when we were there. The food was okay, and the server was pleasant enough, but the ambience seemed tired and sad. It was also a bit strange to see most of the kitchen staff sitting at tables in the dining area watching TV. Fine for a quick bite if you are staying at the hotel.
Richard made our stay! In a hurry so Richard suggested and completed an order that helped us make our appointment. Always nice when people can understand your needs and help you get things done. Thank you, Richard it was the highlight of our stay.
I'm going to apologize for this review as it will be a bit winded. So after a very odd and hard to find route to the basement we were excited to partake in the happy hour listed on the website. To our surprise, they did not have a happy hour. :(. Accompanied with the horrible customer, service we almost left. However, our plane was cancelled, and to be honest there are not many options. I ordered a vodka and received a tiny drink, lol. I said to myself, here we go, as I took a drink and about choked. It was pure vodka! Woot woot, party. We ordered a burger, way too hungry to post a picture, and it was delicious. The fries and the salad we're also delicious.
