Best KPortal Reviews
Visiting Chicago we stopped in one night and had a fantastic meal. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm, a touch of trendy with a “just right” amount of Japanese design.
We decided to go again two night later to try the ramen. Again, excellent high quality food.
I appreciate the timely and friendly service as well as attention to detail. We’ll certainly be back.
We came in for lunch about 40 minutes before they break before dinner, and everyone was very hospitable. I had the Beni Imo without mayo and it was not only delicious, it was beautiful too ???? my friend had mango sherbet and said it was very yummy. It’s a really beautiful restaurant in an ideal location of Printers Row.
Umai on South Clark Street, great atmosphere, outstanding service.
I was there for the Katsu Curry and Tempura. There’s only a few places that serve Katsu Curry around Chicago, Umais’ Katsu Curry felt authentic, I’m coming back for sure to try anything else from their menu.
Wonderful restaurant, full of interesting people. We really enjoyed their sushi, the seaweed salad was ‘hontoni oishi desu’. Definitely a must visit restaurant if you like Japanese food.
Nice, clean restaurant and food. Grilled yellowtail collar was decent. It lacked the full bodied, smoky flavor that makes this dish special. The salmon skin salad was also a bit bland. However, the grilled beef tongue was a hit. I would go back to this restaurant just for this dish.
Nice option for Japanese fare.
Everything tasted good and fresh.
Wife enjoyed her ramen and I liked my mirawase. The fried squid appetizer was also fresh and tasty.
I was a little apprehensive because I can get the same meal in the suburbs for 1/3 less money.
I do look forward to trying other dishes there.
Absolutely delicious Japanese food with good vibes and fast service. We came impromptu on a very busy night and managed to get seating in 20 minutes. The outdoor patio was beautiful at night. The Naked roll was one of the best rolls I’ve had, and squid nigiri was excellent. Beef tongue bbq skewer was melt in your mouth.
The mood was just perfect. Timing of our meals was spot on and the staff were very polite.
The Agadashi Tofu a ‘Hot Appetizer’ simple melts in your mouth, so delicious .
