The quality of service they provided was not met my standard which is 'Don't hurt/cut my fingers'. Did I expect too much? Hmm.. All the crews were talking/laughing very loud in their own language and one of them was singing time to time while none of the customers were talking. I think they were just having fun...at work...? Hmm I don't know.
I go get my nails/toes done when I need some refreshing and relaxing time. Simply I felt very awkward and uncomfortable the whole time I was there and the work was 'meh' even I just got the simplest coloring done. They didn't give me any discount even they cut my finger and bled. So my experience was there was not great but it might be a okay place for some people.
If I could give this 0 stars, I would… I wish I took pictures but they made me bleed multiple times by trying to dig in my nails, I asked for a box shape on my natural nails and I somehow ended up with the weirdest circular nails. Whenever I spoke up, you could tell my nail “tech” was irritated. Please save your money and don’t come here. Just ridiculous. Total was $120 for 2 horrible gel manicures and regular pedicures. Overpriced.
Nancy is very talented and detailed .
I would not recommend going to this place. Probably one of the worst. I wanted a pedicure, manicure and eye brow waxing. I ended up with a really poor manicure which chipped within 24 hrs badly, a cut finger in which the nail tech laughed when it happened and a refusal to have my eyebrows waxed because the technician said her friend had just arrived. She rushed through my nails to service the friend. They use really cheap polish and charge extra to remove old polish. I just moved to the Wheaton area from downtown silver spring but it may be worth the 15 min drive to get quality service. Lastly my nail tech spoke very little English so it was extremely difficult to communicate what I wanted. Look somewhere else when choosing a nail salon.
I have been going to this nail shop for 20 years. I have never been injured or anything until now. My regular lady was not working when I called to make an appointment. So, I was scheduled with this lady name Myi or something like that. I got home and I felt like a itching sensation on my ankle. I didn't think nothing of it at first. Then the next morning while getting ready for work. I saw these red scratch marks on my ankle. I was furious. I knew I couldn't prove it. So, I'm happy to say I have decided never to return. And that extra tip I gave to the nail lady and she did me like that was not what I deserved. But she will never see me again. Now, I have to find a new nail shop. I travel 30 minutes to come to this one. I'm sure I can find something closer to my home.

Nancy is one of the best nail techs I had! She’s done my nails for years and everyone I leave the shop I leave so happy.
We're always on the lookout for a new nail place near the house, but U Nail will probably be somewhere we'll only go in a pinch or pressed for time.
We stopped in one day for a mani/pedi after seeing the shop numerous times on our walk to the metro. It was near closing but the owner suggested we come come back in 30 minutes. We decided to go the next day when it was less busy, and when we arrived she remembered us!
The place was very clean, all the techs wore gloves and repeatedly washed hands and tools. Hygiene is clearly important here.
We were promptly seated (but not next to each other... such is the life of same-sex male couples sometimes), and our techs went to work,. Very friendly and conversational, they offered beverages and warm towels for our legs. We obliged.
I had to prompt for a clear coat on my toes and nails, where almost every other shop I've been to it's been offered if not color as well (I like to be fancy too!). Service was quick and professional so no qualms with that.
The shock came at the ring up. The posted price list was $28 for the combo, but there was an additional $10 charge for the towels, which I've never run into before. Had we known we would've declined. This wasn't on the price list, and I didn't feel like arguing, so we just moved on.
As I said, everything about this shop was above par, but the price differential at the end was an unforced error that could've netted another star. If you live in Wheaton, this is a perfectly fine nail option. We'll probably continue at our normal nail place unless we're super pressed or they're full.
If you ever decide to get your nails done here at UNail, please do not use the technician "Tina", This woman is very abrasive and rude with a don't care attitude. She will refuse to complete your nails if you question her. There are a couple of the staff at this shop who has the same personality as Tina but I do not know their name. Altogether, I will not even recommend this place to the neighbor's dog who bit me.
