Best KPortal Reviews

My family and I have eaten at True Food Kitchen restaurants in Houston and Chicago since 2015. Compared to just about every other restaurant, the ingredients are excellent. I appreciate the simple touches like the candle on the table and the quality of the paper napkin. I do not like cloth napkins for they usually are not very absorbent.
I most recently ate twice in one week at this location. The organic, grass-fed-only hamburger was fair. Flavor and the amount of toppings was lacking. The gluten-free bun definitely needs to be improved. I have had much better quality gluten-free buns at other restaurants.
I am not a big fan of coffee but I must say the Tuscany flavored organic coffee blend was very, very good.
We have been a fan for YEARS, this is our second poor meal, we gave it one more chance. The tuna wraps had 3 little pieces of lettuce and a table spoon of tuna, the meat loaf was tasteless , my wife’s sandwich yam and Gouda sandwich was half a sandwich cut in half she says there was no Gouda . It took us about 75 minutes to get served a 2 course lunch ( for $90). The server was very polite the restaurant was half full. There are problems nationwide getting staff and with high food costs but this whole meal was thoughtless and it was painful to wait between courses and was tasteless, I tend not to leave bad reviews but we were so disappointed we felt we had to say something
Mediocre and overpriced. I tried a couple of things off the menu and found that my food lacked flavor (they seemed to just add fat instead of seasoning), was overcooked, or texture was just very wrong (pizza crust, I’m thinking of you). Service was great and very friendly, but for the price of a nice restaurant left hungry and not satisfied with the experience. I do appreciate that vegan options are clearly labeled.
Great spot to grab a bite.
Variety of vegetarian/vegan/GF options in the menu.
The server was very kind. However, expect a long wait time.
I ordered the vegan double cheeseburger with a side of kale salad. Beautiful ambiance.
We are visiting from out of state and decided to have an early dinner & made it for happy hour. They have a variety of dishes ranging from bowls to pizza to entrees. I am gluten free and I had multiple options. Sam was a wonderful waiter and was very thorough with asking what allergies we had and provided great service. I definitely will be back when we visit Chicago. Make sure to ask for Sam when you come and leave him a good tip!
I sat at the bar and Megan was really great! I got my food quickly and all the staff were super friendly. I had a great conversation with Casey who helped me with many questions I had about the food and I got educated answers. This is a place to go when you care about what you eat and put into your body. Just had a brilliant lunch again! Emily was fantastic she was talkative, and knowledgeable about the menu. Was very passionate about the Squash pie! It was fantastic! The O.G grass fed burger ???? is terrific and the cauliflower, with dill parsley and dates is a must as well.
Shalom, Shramitarians..!… I want to say thanks to all my new followers I appreciate you coming to check out my plant based and vegan options from my travels but without further ado let’s get into it, Quick story first though ???? a good friend of mine Colin got married in Illinois and I had the pleasure of attending his lovely ceremony, so I had to take in all the food we don’t have in Michigan like True Food Kitchen which is fire ???? I must say, before I headed back home ???? I stopped in downtown Chicago and the parking on the street was fierce then a m*f it cost a fourth of my meal to park smh do better Chicago…! But it was worth the hassle for sure, What we have below is a Ancient Grain Bowl???? that contains Miso sesame glazed potatoes ???? , Charred onions ????, Snap Peas ????, Portobello Mushrooms ????‍????, Avocados ????, Organic Grains, Pistachio Pesto, Hemp Seeds & Turmeric V. Also A Vegan Double Burger ????, Portobello ????‍????, Beet, & Walnut Burger Patty..! Vegan Cheese ???? & Jalapeño Remoulade V which was also fire ????, The customer service was amazing and they also cater to other other dietary needs so chill, I’m just concerned with the vegan options it’s hard out here for us and the people who want to spice up their pallets, They also had more vegan options that I’ve had before but no pictures apologies beloved Shramitarians..! Yes they are kid friendly as well and wheelchair accessible although I didn’t see anyone in one but come one come all I assume. In closing this experience was great and if your near one tap in as always enjoy and save me some…!
Real (untainted) food in a very environmentally pleasant atmosphere, good service from Gerard and great choices. Portions large enough for late night sharing. Upbeat playlist. Good volume around 73 decibels
