Best KPortal Reviews
For the veg sandwich alone, I'm giving this place a 5-star review. The avocado and cauliflower in the sandwich made it awesome. They only had a few beers on tap from their menu since they had run out of two of them. We ordered the Chips and Salsa many times since the salsa was pretty good.
We ordered x2 Choriqueso's and x1 crispy chicken milanese. The choriqueso didn't have that much cheese. Who ever seasoned the chicken milanese went salt happy.
Pic is of what is inside of the chicken milanese.
Got a Bacon Egg and cheese torta. It comes with avocado slices on it which is nice. The food itself is fine for $11.50 airport food.
But take-out took 25 minutes... For a sandwich.
If you’re in a hurry to catch your flight, this is not the place to go. Ordered when there were only 2 people waiting for takeout food. I’m assuming they must prioritize dine in food, but that’s just speculation. Either way, I probably wouldn’t eat here again, the wait was just too long.
Food is great! Service is far from good, though, and the place I got was not clean. Moreover, I got wine in a plastic «beer glass». I may consider going again (for the torta cubana) if it is a quieter time of day.
Wow — great food! I was able to squeeze into the bar with only a half hour before I needed to board. The barkeep (extremely nice woman with a ponytail; sorry I didn’t catch your name) took my order quickly. The restaurant is so popular that they only had one kind of sandwich left, but oh my goodness, the Chipotle Chicken Torta was fantastic! The smoky chicken is complimented by avocado, poblano rajas, Jack cheese, arugula, and cilantro crema. The awesome chipotle salsa is the perfect finish for this epic sandwich. I wish I’d had more time to savor it, but I will come here every time I come through O’Hare Airport!
I do not recommend ordering through the app, and they have some bad policies about order-ahead and seating at the dine-in area. My wife and I ordered via the app and went to sit down to also order drinks and guac, the staff said we could not eat our Frontera food at Frontera because of “how it would look”, even after we said we hoped to order more food and drinks. They said they could refund our takeaway order and let us put in the same order sitting down, but this does not work with the order-ahead website. So they asked us to leave or put our Frontera food away. Dumb policy as they lose revenue. We ended up leaving with the food we’d ordered.
Also the Milanesa is not as good as the chipotle chicken torta.
Disappointed they stopped serving breakfast tortas when the cutoff time is 11:00 am and I was there at 10:45 am with no one else in line. I got the Cubano. Very good for airport food.
Can't do much about the fact it's in an airport. However, the gentlemen at the bar with the ponytail was wonderful and very nice to us. We appreciated the food that came out fast and the drinks that hit like a truck. I would be happy to come back here any day for that Cubana and Ancho Mezcal.
