I just had goddess braids done today. This was the worst experience I have ever had. The woman doing my hair was very rough and pulled my hair incredibly tight. I asked her multiple times to not pull so hard and she was unable to adjust. To make things worse, she talked, the entire time, extremely loud in my ear to her colleagues. Unprofessional and a horrible time. Think twice before coming here. If I could give this review 0 stars, I would.
The picture below shows how tightly she pulled at my hair - the scalp is literally bunched up at the sides.
I called top after having a bad experience at another braiding salon near by. She took me last minute as a walk in. Staff was very professional and friendly. Place was clean and price was good. Did my hair exactly like the picture I showed I love my hair I will be returning with my daughter. My sister got her hair done the day after I did. Great experience. Highly recommended
I had a great experience at Tops African Hair braiding. My appointment was at 10. I got in the chair right at 10:00 and left at 3:45. I showed the ladies a picture of the style I wanted and got exactly that. It was two ladies working on my head. They were kind and gentle with my hair. It was oiled when I was finished.I have no complaints and will be returning for sure! ???? I am a person who looks at reviews so I really wanted to be sure to give them some more! Thanks again ladies I love my small knotless waist length braids! ❤️
Took half the day to braid my hair into a simple ponytail. Was disappointed with the timing. My hair turned out nice but the timing is discouraging coming into this establishment. People who were getting individual braids were getting done before me I was astonished. They do braid your thoughts so be sure to purchase some braid relief sprays and take some pain killers midway of getting your hair done. They are hard working ladies but I feel that they could do better with timing by not overbooking.
The young lady who help Braid my hair had a very bad cold it seemed like I should have left I had a mask on but she didn't , what i really didn't like was the none stop talking back and forth over my head the entire time very annoying and unprofessional to do that , , young lady then got an attitude when I ask to have hair breaded all the way down to ends , well anyway other lady who was on my head too braided it all the way down . But it looked nice, but was extremely tight , needless to say over the next few day briads started falling out with my hair in them I won't be going back there ever again. Smh
Absolutely horrible. They do not know how to do knotless braids. The young girl kept snatching my hair after I asked her to stop. They dipped my braids in hot steaming water and put the whole braid in the water. This should only be done with the ends and not my real hair. They then went thru and cut my real hair that curled up from the steam. The mom TOP, picks up braiding hair off the ground and uses it in peoples hair.
Loud talking in my ear the whole time and I had to keep asking the girl DO NOT braid my edges.
When I got home I noticed I had food stuck in my back braids. Not to mention when I took my hair down I realized they cut my real hair.
Avoid them at all cost or you will be bald.
I asked for knotless box braids I didn't receive that. She did my hair how she felt like it should be done telling me it will last longer but I told her thats not what I paid for. She came over and started to finish my hair talking in my ear the entire time very loud to her daughters and sister. I will not be back. The customer is always right.
i showed them a reference photo ( since they asked ) and then did whatever they wanted. braided my edges , neck hair , my side burns , my thoughts , dreams , and emotions. It was so incredibly painful , every time i asked them to do something they just ignored me. I got box braids without the boxes , they didn’t even tie the ends of my braids. the bathrooms were incredibly dirty and disgusting , it was all unorganized and messy in there. they were blow drying my hair without heat protector and it was HOT. overall i’m never ever coming here again.
