My boyfriend and I went for the first time on a Wednesday night! Service was great and all of the food came out super fast. Our dishes were huge. We were impressed. Halfway though eating my boyfriend found a long metal staple in his rice, we informed the staff so they could avoid feeding it to anyone else. The waiter was very nice and asked the manager to discount our meal and she gave us our couple dollar appetizer free. Considering both of our meals were over twenty dollars and the sharp staple could have pierced through any part of his digestive tract that was not fair compensation. Today I have awful food poising and the only thing him and I didn't share was the chicken. The chicken was likely undercooked as that was the last meal I had of the day. Overall, it started really good but ended horribly. We will never be going back as it is a safety risk!
Went for my son's birthday today. We loved this place. My son, especially, enjoyed it. He is on the spectrum and doesn't show much emotion. He was smiling and laughing with the chef's antics. He said the chef was the best chef ever. The food was so, so good. We will definitely be returning and recommending.
Doesn't feel right with a shared table with a party of 6. The food is okay, not great. Service is alright with an 30 minutes wait for our cooker, even we're on time for our rsvp. They need more ????‍???? .
Fried ice cream (Green tea) I'd a must try dessert.
Yessss!!! I Love it here. Lunch is my thang! The people are friendly, the food is amazing! IT'S SO GOOD! I am a v.i.p member now. Proud. I tried the house sake,it was my first time trying it warm. If you have any time, do stop in, give them a try. They do parties, they have karaoke, and they will even do house events. They have it going on. The location is near some of my favorites like the movies, dollar tree ( gotta be thrifty), and they aren't too far from Lowe's for my plant addiction.
But the food..Yesss!!!
Desperate times call for desperate measures!!! Good thing To-Kai was not a desperate measure.
Here’s the backstory: a group of 10 out of towners noobs booked an airbnb relatively in the area. Our best friend (@ayy_bendito) got booked to play a gig in the hood. We ignorantly made a dinner reservation at a Mexican restaurant in center Philly not realizing how far away it was. If we were to go to our original destination we would have missed our friends set because of travel time. Which would have made this whole trip pointless. We had no choice but to cancel the reservation an hour before we were supposed to go. It’s hard to find a last minute reservation for a group of 10 on a Saturday. There was a possibility that we could have starved. Good thing To-Kai was here to save the day!
Menu is huge. There is something for everyone. If someone can’t find something to eat here, their palette is obsolete. My friend was super excited to find that they had a Philadelphia delicacy on the menu: scrapple! Specifically duck scrapple baos. He paired it with a Ramun soda and was literally in paradise. I’m more simple. I got the Trio Sushi Dinner. I was satisfied and not starving.
Out of the group of 10 of us only one of my friends had a complaint. My friend who ordered a margarita did not enjoy it at all. He is of Latin decent and is a margarita connoisseur. The margarita here didn’t live up to his Latin standards. Which is a fair statement to make. He loved his sake though.
Bonus points: my friends dog is named Kai. Kai is a very good dog. He must know the owners here.
Overall I have had a nice experience with this place, have only ordered for take out so I can’t speak for the inside. This is the third time I ordered from this place. The food on the pic costed me around 150-170$ and was enough for 8 people. Very delicious food and a lot of variety, staff was friendly. Would go back again. I recommend it ????
The pictures below are of the food we ordered. For our appetizers we ordered dumplings. and the vegetable tempura. Both were amazing. For our meals, I ordered the steak and chicken hibachi, and my gf got the shrimp and chicken. It was amazziiinnggggg. Service was fast, and attentive. I would definitely go back, without hesitation. In fact, I’ve been meaning to do just that; I’ve been craving those amazing dumplings.
Update: Today I visited on Mother’s day, and the experience was the total opposite. We were a party of 4, seated with another party of 4, totaling 8 people. Instead of them bringing more food, to accommodate everyone, the skimped out. The first two pictures are from previous experiences, the third is the most recent.
Customer service 0/10 I asked for a main dish of steak and this is what I get this is insane I spent 71 dollars on two meals and this is the portion of my steak and they argued me down to try to tell me I ordered wrong when instead they could have just made me my main dish of steak . Hung the phone up when I called and shorted me my refund . I have ate here many times and this is by far the worse treatment I ever received .
