Tried the “Alambre” and was not disappointed. Beans and rice were excellent and the pieces of steak and bacon blended with the Oaxaca cheese was delicious. Great portions. My friend got the Oaxaca bowl and he enjoyed it. Will definitely come back.
Happy Birthday to me! My sweetie took me here for dinner. Ordered tlayudas with chorizo and a couple of Oaxacan tamales. Love the tamale with molé the most. But the real star is the tlayuda. Great crunch and the chorizo very delicious. For me, it's s little out of the way but so worth the drive.
Wish more spots served tlayudas but this place does them well
The times that I have been here tomorrow for Cary out has always been exceptional! Specifically for the Tlayudas, i do live a little far so when ever I am in the area it is always on a top list. If only I knew this place existed when I lived in the neighborhood I would have been a regular!????
Went after a couple years because they raised their prices which I understand but if there's something that I really like I don't mind paying extra ,like their chkn dinner, anyway I really wanted to try their tlayudas I asked for asada which was extra the meat was not good it was not arrachera it was chopped up taco meat which is mostly fat and there was not much flavor had to add salt I did like that it had the pepper and cebollitas grilled that was good alone. I don't drink soda so I asked for water we weren't offered in the beginning like most places they just gave us menus after she brought the food I asked for water she said we don't have any only bottled and our made drinks horchata/ Jamaica I said you don't have water w ice in a cup she said no " I said ok I don't need any drink ate a little left in not paying extra for pre cut meat fat and no effing water not to mention there was kids running around that were going in and out the basement. The meat fat and no water"? Was it for me.
This place specializes in tlayudas which are kind of like a Mexican pizza. They can be customized anyway you want but usually it’s layer of beans then a layer of cheese and meats on a crispy tortilla. I got one with half steak and half chorizo. I think the chorizo half was a bit better.
A small hole in wall type of place with an out of this world flavor. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large and easy to share. They have vegetarian options as well. I will definitely be coming back.
¡Muy sabroso! Crispy tlayudas are loaded with toppings and very tasty. Fresh ingredients, quick preparation. Will return to try more from the menu.
