Tide In Cafe Review
Peter Yeo
Can you rewrite my review, feel free to add some humour. The Tide In cafe was really good, it gets a 5 star review from me. It has an excellent selection of breakfasts, including eggs Benedict and the usual full cooked breakfast. I asked for fried bread, which wasn't on the menu and the chef said that he would do this. The breakfast was good. To be knit picking I would ask for better quality sausages and use Yorkshire tea but it's still a great place.
Well, let's give it a try!
If you're looking for a breakfast spot that will leave you feeling tide over, The Tide In cafe is the place to be! I give it five stars - and I'm not just blowing bubbles.
Their breakfast menu is on point - with classic dishes like eggs Benedict and the full cooked breakfast. But what sets this place apart is their willingness to go the extra nautical mile. When I asked for fried bread (not on the menu), the chef said "Aye, aye, captain!" and whipped it up without a fuss. And let me tell you, it was ship-shape!
Now, I don't want to sound like a seagull, but if I had to nitpick, I would say that the sausages could be of better quality and they could serve Yorkshire tea. But even with these minor details, The Tide In is still a great catch! So come on down and give it a try - I'm shore you'll love it!
Ordered vegan sausages in a roll. Order arrived with a bit of bacon on the plate, and I’m convinced the sausages were actually pork. Upon asking I was told that it was vegan (definitely smelt land looked like meat!) Regardless, they were obviously cooked on the same grill and I wasn’t offered a refund. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO OTHER VEGANS! Avoid - across the street is much better!
Ordered calamari, white bait and plain fries to take away. The fish was fresh and nicely cooked. The portions were good size and came with a tasty and refreshing portion of sliced cucumber and a nice tartare sauce. All was under 18 GBP. Really good value food to eat in the closeby beach in a sunny day. We will repeat if we come back to the area.
Great menu, we had a standard breakfast and a veggie breakfast, nice to see it come with halloumi. Nice place, two things though, almond milk as an alternative to cow milk is a bit limited and our food was a bit on the cold side, fry ups are a balancing act so I assume that was the reason but still, that’s what you pay the pros for isn’t it. That being said it was tasty and big and hit the spot. We’d eat here again for sure.
Awful service, quite simply. A place where incompetence reigns supreme. The most unprofessional, clueless and rude waitress we have ever met in 40 years of holidaying in Britain.
The food was partly overcooked but mostly undercooked, which is difficult to achieve with a simple breakfast.
It was by far the lowest quality eating experience of my entire lifetime.
The café opposite, however, was extremely pleasant.
Tides In is an embarrassment to the restaurant industry and an insult to food services and basic human decency in general.
The most delicious food I've ever had from a beach cafe, have eaten here 3 times in 2 days. Worked my way through the menu and everything is beautifully put together. Mango in the salad is a touch! The snack boxes are exceptional! Nicest guys working there too! I would 100% recommend ????
Had fish and chips from the take away. The piece of fish was very, very small. Could not believe a shop would sell it to a paying customer. When we cut into the small piece of fish, two thirds of it was batter. Actual fish was about 2 inches. The batter was awful and the chips just okay.
Worst fish and chips we have ever had.
Ordered 2 strawberry milkshakes which cost £7!!! When the server was pouring them into 2 very small plastic cups. I could immediately see that the cups were only 2/3 full and when another server was pouring a different milkshake into the tiny plastic cup and it went right up to the very top of the cup. I asked if we had been given half measures. The server (who should really had been quite embarrassed seeing her milkshakes next to the other servers one!!) said it's up to the fill line which it clearly wasn't (maybe she should visit Specsavers). I know I should have told her to keep her 3 mouthfuls of milkshake (at almost 1.15 per mouthful) but we took them outside and they weren't even that nice. Even Mc Donald's milkshakes would win in a comparison test and you'd get a hell of a lot of milkshake there for £7.
