I see Trip Advisor lists the White Swan’s property amenities as having free breakfast but when my husband and I got there, we were told there was NO KITCHEN, so NO BREAKFAST! We weren’t told that on booking. Had to go down the road to the Advocate Arms Hotel for all our meals, which were all lovely, and we’d have definitely stayed at the Advocate had it not already been fully booked for the date we wanted.||On arrival, we were told there would be a singer in the lounge that night and we might hear music in our room – that was an understatement, the music was so loud, it sounded like the singer was in our room with us! I had asked when the music would be finishing and was told @ 11pm but it went on way after that and seemed to get louder towards the end.||This inn should not be taking in paying guests for accommodation, it really looks like it’s on its last legs, the rooms are very small with nowhere to put anything (we couldn’t get anything out of our suitcases) and if the owners want to stage live music, they cannot expect to have guests trying in vain to sleep upstairs.
The Swan has a new landlord...thank goodness!!!...he's doing a great job in trying to get it back on its feet!!!
Friendly family oriented pub with a good sized beer garden. Haven't had their food recently, but it used to be good. The pub remains friendly and not too busy in the afternoon. Now under new management. In fact, very quiet
Me and my partner went there as a weekend get away from big cities for our anniversary. The White Swan and it’s staff were very accommodating and welcoming. I informed them of the reason for our stay and upon entry to the room we were greeted with a lovely card, box of chocolates and a full sized bottle of Pinot blush. The food was lovely and everything was a good price. We had a great time staying, eating and drinking here!
Spent two night there recently, room was a bit tired looking ,bed was comfortable and room was warm .shower silicone at the bottom needs a good bleaching, but it worked well, budget price was OK
The pub is very clean, and the decor is lovely. The staff are very friendly and the Sunday lunch is amazing. Will definitely be back. Visited with my uncle in his wheelchair, my aunt, 2 dogs and 2 kids.
Lovely warm welcome, with great service. Visited on a Friday lunch time and found good choices on the menu with great prices and quality food. All cooked fresh in lovely surroundings. Plenty of parking at the back, large dining area, cosy seating and in better weather a fantastic outside play area for children.
Chose this place for location and I have to say was very impressed by the standard of ||service and quality of the food for a town center hotel/pub. although the menu is not extensive still enough to choose from and all at a great price. The food we chose was cooked perfectly and very good portion size. Wound definitely recommend this if your in the area and looking for something to eat. WELL DONE AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
