Mardi Gras at the Wharf is becoming an annual event. There is a parade with floats, bands, beads, and fireworks. Large crowds packed the Southwest Waterfront layout in the District of Columbia to celebrate.
Wharf is a fun place for anyone with its boardwalk next to the water, two little piers expending far on the water. I don’t need to mention different food options available through it, put aside everything you can buy and eat there it’s a great place even without spending any money. You can watch the sailboats float on the water or sit next to a fire pit as you dream looking up in the sky. The place is nice to visit both during day/night time!
Every time I go to the Wharf is amazing and unique. Honestly, I think it is the best area of this city.
Just stop and take a look around.
This amazing district was breathtakingly beautiful, clean, and such a good place for taking photos. Similar to Darling Harbor in Sydney, but this one is a little bit smaller.
I was here in the afternoon nearly sun set, just sat back and relax, had an ice cream and got some nice photos, and let the kids played around the pier.
Lots of restaurant options, public restrooms, places to sit in the summer, places to charge your phone, take a nap, take pictures. You can relax all day, play connect 4 and try different cuisines.
The water taxi was great to take to old town Alexandria. Clean, fast and great views. So glad we have water transportation back in our nation's capital.
Your American flags on the wharf are tattered, faded and/or torn. They need to be replaced as this is disrespectful to all our Veterans in the United States of America who have served, who are still serving and who have been laid to rest. Thank you for listening.
