ALL the staff were friendly and helpful. The pub fare is wonderful. Breakfast was fit for a king. Concierge went out of her way to make me feel at home. Could not have expected a better experience.
The room was basic and clean no more than what you expect for the price which was very reasonable. Perfect for just 3 nights. Very convenient location and easy to get to, with free car parking too. The staff were friendly and helpful. The shower was extremely hot and difficult to find a comfortable temperature and was awkward because of the low ceilings. Other than that we had a great stay.
We had just come back from a treacherous day hiking, looking forward to getting back to the hotel to rest & have a bath, to find the room my partner had booked had no toilet or shower/bath, we had to go across the hall. I know it's not far, but it states on booking.com that all the rooms come with a private fitted bathroom. I then notice our room has stains on the curtains, paper coming off the walls, stains on the bed sheets, and litter from previous guests on the floor. To top it off, our room was lit up during the night by I assume the sign outside so I couldn't sleep. Plus, there was a mattress spring digging into my back all night, which was uncomfortable! 3 stars, apparently, there's no way. Our friends' rooms looked adamantly a bit better, but 1 didn't have a toilet door, they also had stains on the side of bed and on walls, etc. I didn't complain at the time because we didn't have the energy to be honest. The lady on reception was welcoming on arrival though. It's a shame as it was in a great location. Would definitely not recommend it.
I stayed at the Traxx Hotel for 2 nights and I would honestly recommend that you find another place to stay. Although the staff is friendly and helpful and it is in a good location, the rooms are extremely uncomfortable.
1. Walking into the hotel you are welcomed by a dirty carpet up the stairs, filled with stains.
2. Then you get to the room, the mattresses in room 1 and room 8 are literally sinking. The bedding smelled horrible in room 1, smelt like it hadn’t been washed in months. Smelt like sweat and drool. The mattresses are so old I woke up with a sore back and I’m relatively young and I was extremely disappointed.
3. The bathrooms need a renovation, they are old.
4. The towels were old and hard. They need to buy new towels or invest in a better laundromat
5. There was only a little bar of soap in the bathroom.
6. For the price it’s a Hard No! This is not a hotel but a hostel.
I would not waste your money staying here honestly, especially if you are like me and travelling from another continent and need a good nights sleep after travelling for over 20 hours. A lot of improvement is needed to elevate the guest experience.
The first day I arrived I had some trouble with the technology, the Wi-Fi connection wasn’t strong enough upstairs of the hotel and I needed help to connect. The television only had one channel, and the volume was really high- the remotes didn’t match the tv so went down to ask for help and the staff available didn’t know what to do as she worked on the bar. The following morning I went down again and the lady sorted out the WI-FI and someone came to fix the tv, however that night the volume was too loud and there was no way for me to lower it, eventually my tv was swapped for a smaller version with no remote so I used the buttons on the actual television. The staff were really helpful overall. ||The room could do with a deep clean but was generally fine|Could also do with bedside lamp, and better room configuration as the kettle wasn’t near a plug socket.|Comfortable bed and bedding and large room size |Good location right on the train and bus routes
The Traxx Hotel scores big on location, welcome and value for money. Just across the road from the Railway Station. Round the corner from a couple of good restaurants and a Lidl outlet. The welcome at reception, the bar and the restaurant was warm and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and exceptional value for this time of year in Wales. All in all you’d be hard pressed to beat it.
I stayed in the Traxx Hotel as a guest for more than three months in a row. And I absolutely loved it! All the members of staff were very respectful of me and of my privacy. Wendy (the manager of the hotel) is a very honest, kind and compassionate person. Very rarely in this life we meet someone like Wendy: I found Wendy to be one of the most amazing and caring human beings I ever met. She is a very special person. During my stay in the hotel, Wendy helped me a lot. And I will be eternally grateful for all that she has done for me. I loved the floor of the hotel: very easy to clean. The beds were very comfortable and I was surprised to see that the drainage of the hotel was amazing! I loved the beautiful chandelier in the hallway. The hotel has a great relaxing and friendly atmosphere. I love you Traxx!
Great little place if you're passing through. Right next to the station and the bus stop. Excellent service, real friendly. Next level chips. Great gin and tonic. Lovely calm atmosphere for the weary traveller.
