Went out for a walk Friday afternoon and it had been a while since wandering down here. The last time was summer last year and The Top Lock was closed. Was great to see the place open again. Both staff who were working were very pleasent and friendly. I had a large black americano coffee as a pick-me-up ☕, then decided i'd try a large red wine ( rioja )????. It was delicious ! Will certainly be back again soon.
What a fantastic little pub! Slowly making my way through the new menu and have not been disappointed yet, very tasty and at very good prices. Called in over the weekend and the place was packed! Warm friendly atmosphere, dog friendly and the staff go above and beyond to cater for everyone. Would highly recommend a visit
Called into the Top Lock before going a walk. The pub was reasonably busy, but not enough staff working to cope. Visiting the bar, I was only 3rd in the queue, but it took a while to get served, without big drink orders ahead of me. I was hoping to order sandwiches, as well as 2 drinks, but was informed food orders had been suspended, while 'they caught up'. By the time I hot served the queue behind me had swollen to maybe 10 or 12. Tables were not being cleared and/or wiped down. We sat at a table and the table hadn't been tidied.
Lovely, newly refurbished pub. Great selection of beers and small selection of food but we didn't eat on this occasion. Food did look nice though, so we will be back!
Lovely pub, nice relaxing vibe and gorgeous log burner. Only criticism is that we are often left standing waiting for a table. It would be great to squeeze in a few more tables as there is plenty of space
We had fish and chips which was from frozen, kids chicken nuggets were also from frozen and cheap, pizza was ok, beer around £6 a pint, toilets had no soap or hand dryer. On the plus side there was good live music and pub was lively.
Having read some reviews on here and Facebook I was a little reluctant but I’m glad we decided to try for ourselves.The staff are a happy,friendly bunch who seem to enjoy being at work. Great selection of lagers,ales and coffee. We had a selection of the small plates and pizzas and the children had homemade chicken goujons and a small fish which wasn’t really small at all and was delicious. Empty plates all round Infact listening to other people after eating everyone was saying the same thing how delicious it was and the price really shocked me it’s really well priced for the portion you get. I strongly recommended the salt and pepper chicken topped fries and the Greek fries both were incredible and really moreish! Don’t go off other people’s reviews give it a try for yourself.

Extremely friendly welcome & service.
Well kept Cask Ales & various other drinks.
Pub games available.
The food looked very hearty & was very competitive prices.
Good one.
