went for sunday lunch. such a beautiful place inside and outside! when we first got there we were so confused about how to order/what the protocol was for food haha, another couple was also confused too it wasn’t just us! service was a bit slow, expected though because it was a busy sunday.
food was great. one vegetarian option (bangers and mash) which came with loads of veg which was great. though when someone asked if the bangers and mash came with anything else like veg etc, the server said no, even though it did come with loads of veg?
I have been a couple of times. The first time, I had a cheeseboard and tea the food was excellent and service brilliant. I went back with my son to celebrate him passing his test for a relaxed lunch. We had mussels, fish finger sandwich and burger. Food was well cooked and fresh. Sandwich came with home made chips and salad. Great experience ????
Always a pleasure to dine at the stables. Their menu choice is amazing even as a vegetarian I can try things here that are not your general quiche or lasagne. The prices are reasonable both for food and drink.
A special mention to the lovely staff as well. They make the pub special.
Charming and cosy small pub and restaurant.
Great pub grub style menu with plenty of homemade food available.
We enjoyed the fish and chips and the black pudding very good quality.
The service was a little slow with larger tables getting faster attention.
We waited a long time to order more drinks and a dessert menu.
We expected a wait for our mains but weren't put off by this as they were excellent.
Good drink choices available.
Can be busy even on weekdays due to the location and size of the establishment.
Definitely will return.
Fabulous cosy pub with friendly helpful staff and first class food. We visited to celebrate a family birthday, they added our decorations to the table and brought out a cake at the end. The food was delicious, excellent quality and service was perfect. Would highly recommend The Stables to everyone x
lovely food,friendly service, highly recommend
A very rare full 5 STAR review from me on this one, beautiful building with loads of character, super friendly staff and the food was spot on, I never usually order beef but the roast was beef and I thought I'd give it a go and I was not disappointed!!!Really looking forward to going back!
Loved it here! Did not get to try the food, but I heard the Sunday lunch is great. The building is fantastic and felt like I was in the Lake District! Staff were very nice, and the toilets were very quirky!
