Was a stop on our ladies/mom nignt out. Bartender was quick and friendly but quiet. The logo is really weird (doesn't really look like a horse) so it kept us ladies laughing. Prices were average.
To Melissa Beck...The Stables is a bar, not a restaurant. Bartenders do not come out from behind the bar to serve/take orders at the tables, esp since there is usually only 1 bartender per shift. Also, the 4 tables are literally 3-4 feet from the bar. You should really go back, I’m sure they would love to serve you a beverage!
Came in when there was eight people in the bar. Sat at a table and waited for service. Sat for about 20 min and two more people came and sat at bar. This is when I realize the bar tender was under the impression the tables were not her concern as they immediately got drinks and my party of four was yet to even be acknowledged.
Unfortunate night visiting at this bar. Called ahead of time to make sure they would be able to play the bucks game on TV, and upon arrival we were treated like royalty (aside from the subpar Google search bartending). Mind you, we were the only people in the bar- so if the bartender wasn't paying attention to us I'm not sure what she would be doing. Upon her clear group of friends arriving, she turned the sound off on the game entirely without acknowledging us, and turned on the radio which only had commercials playing. When asked if she could turn the volume on the game up slightly, she responded with an attitude and acted in a pompous manner as if to impressive her friend circle that had showed up. She ignored our empty drinks to serve the other patrons of the bar. So disappointed as we would have spent a lot of money at this bar. Will not be returning.
This is a fine place to sit and have beer. They have a great selection of beer on tap. It's a comfortable and clean place. I'll stop in again for sure.
Great hometown style bar. Bartender was thankfully cool to let our drunk group hang out right till close (for post wedding festivities).
My new favorite bar In Dixon great owner, awesome bartenders, nice place to relax after a long day or hang out with a group of friends
This cute tavern is a toss up. Definitely the best spot downtown for a drink but don't be in a hurry.
