I enjoyed the food I ordered – spice level was good and creamy. Service was really bad though. They made us wait nearly half an hour to be seated when there was a table available, and then not-so-subtly kicked us out for eating late. And watch the tip they charge back to your card if you dine in and pay with a credit card.
This is currently my favorite Indian restaurant in Chicago. With that said, a few minor issues. While the staff is wonderful and accommodating, the gentleman giving our table water filled our glasses every time anyone took a sip. This is great, don't get me wrong, so much better than desperately needing some water and not having any, but maybe just provide some pitchers for the table instead of leaning over my plate every 2 minutes? Also, I noticed while my dining companions bowls were filled nearly to the brim with their orders, mine could have used another ladle or two. For the price (and amount of food we ordered) I think the kitchen could afford to be a tad more generous in the portions. Mine was mostly sauce and very sparse on chicken. Finally, we waited an incredibly long time for someone to both take our orders and bring us the check. Aside from that, we all had a great time and will definitely dine here again.
Great tasting Indian food BUT the portions were ridiculously small. But the process sure weren't low. The naan was amazing. The paratha too but the price forces me to go to Devon Street for food just as delicious but a better value. If there were four small chunks of chicken in each chicken dish, that was a lot!!! If servings had been fairer for price, I would have given them another star.
I went here once for a pickup order while walking the dog. I got the order walked home put it on the counter and my butter chicken just breaks out the side of the bag and busted open on the ground. Whoever packed the order put the sauce in sideways with a loose lid on top of it and I basically lost my main course. I won't be going back. I was on the look out for a good indian place too, shame on them. Here is a pic of the disaster I had to clean before enjoying a fraction of the meal I paid for.
Ordered online came in good time everything was excellent but WOW very spicy was VERY SPICY!! Indian street food style spicy. Spiciest Indian food I’ve ever had in the US, and I wasn’t prepared… but bravo!
Dined there with my brother several days ago. Happy to find an Indian restaurant just 10 minutes away. Finding parking on a Monday at 5pm was a rare & pleasant surprise. Food was great! Garlic Naan was amazing. Chicken & lamb dishes in their sauce were tender & delicious. Highly recommend the cauliflower appetizer & samosas. Service was good. They were super busy with takeout & pickup orders! I hope to return very soon.
Called at 930 to see if they would still be seating parties while we were 2 mins away. We were told if we arrived before 935 that we could be seated. Arrived 2 mins later to be told they closed seating at 915 but we could order online. We did so. Went in 20 mins later to check on the food and they “hadn’t received it.” So then they started a new order. Wait another 20 mins and happen to check the bag before we left and one of three entrees ordered was spilled all over the bottom of the bag. We went back in and they offered to remake the entree that spilled so instead we would have two cold entrees and cold naan that they refused to do anything about or provide any apology for. Got the food and none of it was made to the spice request nor was it even good. Portions are half the size of comparable Indian restaurants.
Order a PBM online takeout and specially mentioned it to be medium spicy. But the food I got was extremely spicy. Even though I am used to eating spicy food, I had to take a sip of water after every bite. I ate some food but had to throw the rest away because my mouth was burning. Do you guys even read instructions for an online order? I had also asked to get cutlery on the side but didn't get anything. Very disappointed, probably never again
