Traveling the US via RV, we stayed in this area 4 nights -- loved the cool vibe at this lively dining experience! Great menu and plenty of seating inside and out. Excellent, tasty food, good drinks and talented entertainment right on the river - what a gem. We enjoyed the energy here for 2 nights.
Awesome little spot for a great lunch! I had the blackened chicken sandwich and it was amazing. Great scene too, looked like the pelicans were more successful than the fishermen!
Food is very good portions and good taste for the price but you have to order at the counter when you walked in. What do you want? When is your first time there? The atmosphere is no. 1 see the boats go in and out and people dock the boat and come up to the restaurant is fun.
So this is a gem of a place on the river. The service is friendly the drinks strong and food delicious! My son stated it was the best shrimp po boy he ever had. The kid can eat and has had a lot of po boys. All in all I highly recommend the River Shack!
Meet some friends there for dinner. It’s a good place to visit for the atmosphere. Food was ok, catfish was a little over cooked, as were the shrimp but the beer was cold the view was amazing. It’s a seat your seat, order yourself place, but they will delivery when order is ready. They have an indoor bar and seating area if you don’t want to sit outside.
If you plan on sitting outside after dusk bring something for the “no see em, Nats”
The food and service is good. Drinks are good, a little pricey but not bad. Mostly outside everywhere and not much there to cool you off, even inside was steaming hot.
The River Shack is located right on Dog River. It is an open air restaurant with a separate indoor bar. We loved the live music and sitting where we could watch the boats come in! The food was good, but I didn't love the sauce on the shrimp app. I'll try something different next time. My husband like the burger. Super casual atmosphere on the water!
It was our first time here and we wasn't sure how it worked but loved how you seat yourself and order from a window, and they bring out your food wherever your setting. They had amazing seating on the water and love music. Food was great and staff was awesome.
