Best KPortal Reviews
It's a run down dump of a place.
As i walked in a young guy who was walking out stared, too long, straight at me. As I stood at the staffless bar, waiting for service it dawned on me that the young starer was probably the barman. I waited, nothing. I then got a phone call and took that as devine intervention that I should go elsewhere.
So I did.
Avoid.
This little bar is basic but packed with friendly locals. Bar tender was friendly and helpful. There's a great choice at the bar, including some lovely local ales and lagers. Really reasonable prices too. We enjoyed a couple in here.
Had one drink didn't stay long the toilets looked like they could do with a good clean
A proper pub, you don't see these places too often. It's basic, small and comfortable in the best possible sense, and I immediately felt despite being a stranger. The barman and other customers are friendly and the beer is very enjoyable. There is a small beer garden, with a large outdoor TV, so it's great to go and watch football and enjoy a nice beer.
This is a pub. It's a small pub, a town pub. It doesn't change much over the years thank goodness. It serves a small local clientele and a few occasional visitors like me. The brewery is Hook Norton so the ale is fine. If you've never been to an English country town pub before do try it because, if you're open to absorbing the unique Cotswold ambience, you won't be disappointed. You'll be the richer. Ask about Aunt Sally.
Small, traditional pub. Most nights they don't do food. However, they do offer excellent handmade pizzas on Friday and Saturday nights, available for take away or eating in. Hook Norton ales, which is always a plus, and friendly staff.
It's a dive bar, for when you're fed up with the pretty pubs on the high street.
Traditional town pub, great Hook Norton beers, friendly locals, Alice behind the bar very helpful. What more do you want from a great local pub.
