Guid friendly pub.
Superb waistcoat wearing landlord, comedian, storyteller, chef and bottle washer called “ TONY “ !!!
Also his very friendly long haired , Alsatian / German Shepherd big friendly pup, whom patrols with gusto the bar area and welcomes every one “ BAR “ none into the Pub.
Myself, wife & our border collie called in on Monday & Thursday for a couple of relaxing pints whilst on a short stay in the area. This was a good call. We were welcomed by landlord Tony, & a few locals who were very friendly.
We will certainly visit again if we return to this locality.

We were staying in the village and this is the obvious watering hole to go to. Opened at 6pm each day we were there and I think we popped in for a couple of pints 5 days out of the 6 we were staying. Very friendly chap behind the bar - engaged in conversation and gave some good local advice. Cheap beer (for us southerners anyway) coming in at £6.50 for a pint of Tenants and an Aspall Cider. We were more often than not, the only ones in there, however there was a celebration on Saturday evening and the place was nice and busy. They seem to have a restaurant but it didn't seem to be in action - we didn't need food on any of the days so didn't get involved - but possibly its in pause during Covid. On one of the days the barman had his big German Shepherd with him, who was a big softie! Lovely village pub, most likely won't be back in the area but if you happen to be there, then get in there for a nice local pint!
A fine hostelry, with very reasonably priced drinks and a brilliant landlord and landlady in Tony and Maureen
