Very good basic B&B. Rooms are dated but very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Well placed for local attractions. These lovely little private places are hard to find after COVID. So this is a little gem that the owners are obviously working hard to update. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. A fantastic budget friendly place to stay. We will definitely stay here again.
For the price you get what you pay for. If you love Curry then you'll love this place. The food is excellent. The room was big and very basic but served it's purpose. I had the best nights sleep. I love the smell of curry so it did not bother me. It's well worth £54 and the breakfast was dam good too. Would I stay again, yes I would.
Went to this pub a few times through December as was in the area for the month, lively bar nice crowd but they never had any beer, the whole bar has cups over everything apart from carling and John Smiths. Used to go here often when I lived in the area and it was always a good pub. Nowadays bar staff are never to be seen and neither are drinks or management, such a shame
The bar is okay since it's been transferred into new ownership. Limited selection of alcohol free beverages, but the customer service is satisfactory. Could do with an external refurb, as it looks tired at the moment, but don't let that deter you from visiting :)
I wasn't going to write a review... however, as The Penrhos Arms is now subject to a legal issue with me, I am more than happy to leave this review. Not only did they ask me to pay on arrival, they also charged me again via booking.com and have ignored their requests to refund, as well as my own. Solicitors letter on the way !
Very reasonably priced. Nice breakfast with nice service. On top of a good pub and an Indian restaurant. Very happy.
We were booked into the Penrhos Arms Hotel but we pulled into the carpark and were greeted by a pile of old fridges, a broken exercise bike, lots of rusty metal in one of the parking spaces and staff smoking outside the kitchens. This caused use to turn around in the carpark and leave to find alternative accommodation. We were offered only an Indian style evening meal, which is fine if you can eat spicy food but I cannot. Basically you will be staying in an Indian restaurant with staff who just stand around smoking when actually they could be tidying up the place. It is a dump. This is posted on their Facebook page, it is wrong and misleading. 'Country style pub in the heart of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch'.
A lovely pub with great staff. We arrived with a half wet dog and they were very welcoming. The menu was great and the specials just as good. All the food was homemade from scratch. The homemade short crust lamb pie and the lamb shank were amazing. We will go back for sure.
