This was my fourth time here. Took two pasties home.They were great I use to live i Wisconsin and always went into youper land and get These from Pastry shop are excellent
We're from Michigan and have had plenty of Upper Peninsula pasties over the years. I can honestly say that the Englewood Pasty Shop is as authentic as anything served in Michigan. Hard to believe, but it's true! It's not really a restaurant, but there are a couple of small tables. It's primarily pick-up. They offer several varieties, but beef is the best. Store has the charm of an actual Upper Peninsula road-side store.
Homemade pasties were soo delish. Tried the traditional and steak, both are delicious. The gravy is good too. Nice and friendly owner. Glad we found this hidden gem in Englewood.
Having a Yooper dad I can attest to the authenticity of these! Great crust, soooo good. Owner is wonderful!
In Minnesota we had pastys, moved to Englewood Florida, we are lucky to have this business here,absolutely love them,and the owner does it right!
I had been meaning to go here for a long time, but finally did today. The pasties are great and remind me of those from Cornwall. I will be back.
My husband was so excited to get a pasty outside of the UP. The meat and chicken cordon Bleu were both super yummy!
Maps said that this place is open Monday thru Friday 11-5. It's Monday May 15 So I drove 25 minutes and arrived at 12:44 because the pastys are that good. But to my disappointment they are now actually closed on Mondays. I came during business hours the middle of last month on a Wednesday and closed. I can never catch them open anymore. I suggested a business hours change on Google maps.
