Great place to stop for an ice cream. Loads of different flavours and plenty of seating inside and out.
Parking isn't well set out, and the queuing system needs to be improved as parents were queuing with kids in the car park where cars drive past......more fencing ideally needs to be put up to keep people/kids safe.
It's an ice cream parlour but serves coffee and tea lots of choices goid prices a lovley place for children to play in all weathers. Only open at the moment Friday sat and. Sundays
A lovely little gem in a quiet area off the motorway. Delicious ice cream with a wide selection of choice of flavour. I had sticky toffee, chocolate, and salted caramel. All 3 of them were incredibly creamy and flavourful. Loads of seating with fun activities for kids, a lovely way to spend a few hours of your day with your family. I will 100% be back next time I visit Devon
Visited for the first time today and left with mixed opinions.
*Ice cream and milk shake were super tasty and reasonably priced!
However...
*Baby changing facilities were super dirty and hard to change a baby in the corner next to the toilet that has no lid. We couldn't even move the table angle to help the situation.
*With a long queue for ice cream there could be more boards to help decide when you wait to prevent a back log at the serving desk as the paying till was empty for ages.
*pay and play is a bit ridiculous. It's mainly aimed at older children who can climb which is fantastic for them, however toddler swings were broken or not working. It's so sunny in the meadow with no shade or umbrellas to enjoy the space as a family. Animals look bored. It's basically loads of sand pits, slides and swings which you can get at a local park for free. If you were getting something more then it would be worth the money.
I will only be returning for ice cream unless something else changes, which is disappointing as I had heard such great things.
Perfect place to visit with young children even on a rainy day. Play areas- indoor and outdoor- farm animals and delicious ice-cream. Dogs allowed in ice-cream parlour but not in play areas.
Visiting Orange Elephant ice cream is the result of passing the huge plastic elephant (now orange with a cone, it was previously pink with a slide by the side of the M5 just south of Exeter on the north bound side) so many times over the years I have lost count.
Anyway the ice cream is very good, huge range of flavours and not just the usual suspects, we had a sundae (banana split) - really nice, service and prices good.
There is a play barn, not investigated, a field/orchard also not checked (extra cost but good for small ice cream eaters).
Outside and inside eating areas, toilets etc.
The buildings etc could be renovated some more however it is also a working farm and the ice cream is very good.
Beware not open every day, check before going to avoid disappointment.
Lovely place, delicious ice cream - we've always seen the orange elephant but have never been - we'll definitely come back again
Kids absolutely loved it! Now been twice in a week ????
Service fantastic and all with a smile
Mrs T has it down to a tee ????
