We were a party of 7. The owner, on the phone when I went in, didn’t turn round to acknowledge me. I asked if dogs were allowed and wasn’t sure she was talking to me or on her phone, so asked again; she turned shouting Yes! We all commented how our bacon sandwiches were poor, small amount of overcooked bacon and dry rolls. Coffees and hot chocolates weak and quite tasteless. Very disappointing and just plain rudeness from the owner. Also at my previous visit last year, I comforted the distressed daughter of the owner, after witnessing the loud, verbal abuse coming from her (the owner).
Ordered some cakes which I assume were homemade. No labels had to ask. I played it safe with a brownie and usually would eat most things but honestly it was awful. Please try the products before putting them for sale at 2.50
Great little cafe we stumbled across after our hike. Cakes were delicious and great ice cream too. Really well priced.
We called in to get a drink and some ice cream but we didn’t stop…. Long story short my wife went to find the unmarked toilet, when she returned the older lady who works there said and I quote in an angry tone ( why have you used the pub toilet when it’s nothing to do with us) she didn’t for a start! I was shocked so I got up and left. Will not recommend and will never go again!
Rude absolutely rude customer service and really needs to sort that bad attitude out it was horrible!!!
Stopped after a bike ride. Lovely service, chatty and friendly. The ginger tiffin was amazing, coffee good and space outside to park the bikes.
Awful experience at this tea rooms. I had some sympathy with the lady I presumed to be the owner that the toilets had been left ‘in a mess’ by a young disabled customer. But shouting loudly and humiliating him and his carer in front of other customers was both unprofessional and uncalled for. Having gone into the toilet after she’d cleaned it, I wondered how she thought the carer was supposed to clean up in any case, as there is only one small cold tap which dribbles water. She then compounded the bad impression by shouting at another lady who used the toilet but didn’t buy anything. As other reviewers have said, this woman is in the wrong profession! I definitely don’t recommend this place and won’t be returning.
The lady who served us was not friendly at all. Why would you be in that type of job when you are not a people person at all. It was like it was an inconvenience that we were there. This was midweek. Not sure if she was the owner or a staff member, either way sell your business or get another job where you dont have to meet people.
On behalf of my mother - Not recommended for vegetarians. Sandwiches are made up fresh so I asked if I could just have a cheese sandwich as I’m vegetarian and cheese and ham was an option. I was told if I was a non meat eater I should go somewhere else. I was with my grandson (age 4) at the time who also wanted a cheese sandwich but she told him he the same thing. Overall very rude and not accommodating.
