Visited on Bank Holiday Monday, arrived about 3 pm. Because had been so busy they'd run out of several items on the menu. However...they offered us a mezze platter to share with the foods they had left...it was out of this world! Beautiful flavours and gorgeous to look at.
Staff were so friendly, would recommend to anyone.
Also great gluten free and vegan choices!
Lovely place for coffee and cakes. Very friendly and helpful. Gluten free options. Not the cheapest place around but well worth it for a treat. Good organic and restricted diet packaged foods and wines. Wouldn't do your whole weekly shopping there but excellent for some hard to get items.
The curried veg soup was out of this world, the raspberry frangipani was great and the coffee first class. Some may think a bit pricey? Unkind!! The food is well worth it and you pay more for the drinks in fast coffee shops. Top class. And the seating area is cool too.
My wife and I went in today for a bit of breakfast. We were sat at a very small table in the window. Clearly to make the cold and uninviting place look busier. Two teas were ordered and eventually we managed to order two eggs florentine. Awful! Expensive! The "poached" eggs were over cooked with rubbery whites and solid yolks. All on a bagel too. The Spinach was tasteless. At £16 it was well worth the price because we now know to stay well clear ! Our advice......leave it alone.
I pop in every couple of months when I'm either working in the area or taking my mum shopping for the day. The food is DELICIOUS! I usually opt for the mezzes. I agree with some of the other reviews that service can sometimes be a bit off - especially when they had the upstairs open but - the coffee is lovely there is nothing better then sitting by the window watching people go by. Try the coco piccolo - the coconut milk coffee... Now I'm not a fan of coconut usually but it is lovely! I also like that they have the beers/other foods for sale - i always take some of the little valley brewery bottles when they have them in stock.
Great vegan food, although would prefer the whole menu was vegan but that's just me I guess. Atmosphere is OK, place us always busy which speaks volumes. As does the fact that these reviews are all positive apart from one twit who got banned a year ago and seems to bear a grudge. Not cheap, servings could be bigger, but it's good vegan fare and that's not always easy to find.
A wonderful space for coffee and food in picturesque Todmodern. Everytime I'm in the area, I have to stop off here for a good cup of coffee and maybe a bite to eat. The space is friendly, clean and trendy and the staff are very welcoming. The Old Co-Op Café also sold some great and affordable crockery which are some of my favourite pieces in my kitchen now!
The menu was varied and the food which we were served after a lengthy wait was very nice, but a touch expensive for what you received in my opinion.
We also found the staff to be unfriendly and almost unwelcoming. We had an issue with the mix up of what food arrived, which they never even bothered to resolve. Basic customer service. Maybe it was just a bad day but we won't be in a hurry to return.
