Has really gone downhill, shabby rundown needs a good clean/ dusting and a serious like of paint could do with a full redecoration of the whole place inside and out. Sadly won't be returning
Great place nice friendly staff and lovely food xx
We were staying at Felmoor park just up the road and booked a table for 4 adults a child needing a high chair and our dog.
It was a nice evening so we had drinks out in the beer garden then had our meal in the conservatory. We were made to feel very welcome by staff and locals at the bar. food was very good . steak and triple cooked chips were first class. Thanks
Camped here overnight. Large groups were welcome but the music was quiet as it got later and no problems with noise of any sort. Facilities are very basic, no showers, but a good location for an overnight stop. Pub staff are very friendly, and good with kids. Near enough the seaside for an evening stroll too.
We called in on our journey south from Scotland to Yorkshire the Sunday after new year, around 2pm lunch time on the off chance having no idea what to expect. Most places nearby were still shut. It was advertised on the web as open, where as many said they were but actually weren't and on arriving we found this to be true and very busy. We had no booking it was purely a drop in. We were greeted by welcoming staff and although busy they found us a table immediately, and explained how the carvery worked. The food was hot, fresh, and extremely delicious and there was no shortage of meat or veg. They replenished the veg and gravy regularly ensuring a freshly cooked choice was always available and we were only there for an hour. The staff were friendly & efficient. it thoroughly enjoyed the meal and experience and will definitely be dropping in again when we go past another time.
Friendly owners. Not bad food just had baguette. The pub needs a spruce up but they have not had it very long so hopefully they will improve decor and cleanliness in the pub. There's a wild camping field at the back where they have live music too.
We have camped here several times now and this is a brilliant place. Think of this as luxurious wild camping. Pitch your tent in the meadow and you are a stones throw from the pub. The pub has a great menu with lots of food to choose from and there is always live music on at a weekend. Steve and Michelle the landlords are very welcoming and excellent people as is Stocksy the restaurant manager. I can't reccomend this place high enough.
never been here before bit heard good things as we aren't local. ordered 2 mixed grills and 2 kids meals. was overcharged on my card by nearly £20 . the waitress was lovely mind, really apologetic, these things happen . But when food came out especially for it's being £16 each it's was disgusting . tasted greasy very minimal and the steak was just a big lump of fat. my daughter's sausage and little line of mash had a little splash of gravy on and Yorkshire burnt. I'm not one for leaving reviews to be honest but I've been that appauled by the whole thing I had too.
