My Pop & I went to the Norse Horse Tavern and we weren't disappointed!! The special of the day was the Philly cheese-steak and it was awesome!! I had a local amber beer & Pop had a Danish Carlsberg beer. Our server April is a local and used to work at the Danish Museum. She gave us a few places to see while we were in Elk Horn. April is so legit - she's got the Danish windmill tattooed on her arm!! The building is the oldest build in Elk Horn. Super cool!! If you're in Elk Horn, definitely stop by the Norse Horse Tavern!!
Much better than average mushroom swiss burger. Mushrooms seemed fresh good quality burger and pretzel bun and the fries were nice and crispy. Excellent choice. The variety of beers are pretty good from IPA to Stout and wheat. You'll be able to find something you like for sure.
Great place, good food. Nice people awesome desert! They have Mill Stream Root Beer on tap! My wife said they had a danm good salad. ????
Waited 30 minutes for 2 hot buttered rum drinks. Server had 1 whipped up for someone right away as we waited. Had to go back to register to bring up I've been waiting. Edit for owner- it was not busy. There were 3-4 people working. Server at register was talking to someone for a good 45 minutes. There was 1 family of 4 at a table who left shortly after we got there, 2 people sitting at bar. And 1 other table of people. No excuse
Great selection of beer and liquor. I think there were 13 beers on tap, which is a lot for a small town. Excellent service--the owner was very friendly and knows his stuff. I stopped in here for a couple beers after eating at the Flour Mill next door. These spots make Elk Horn a must stop!
Only restaurant open today in town. We're glad we came. Greeted warmly by the staff. The old menu was pictured on Google so I wasn't sure I'd be able to eat anything more than a house salad as I'm vegetarian. I was pleasantly surprised to find vege burger and grilled cheese on the menu. Everything was delicious.
Very clean. fast Curtis service .and excellent food .Couldn't be happier .I will be coming back.
Best meal I've had all week! No complaints from our family.
We visited Norse Horse while visiting the Windmill Museum with our 2 kids. The employee at the windmill recommended Norse Horse when we asked about lunch, when we arrived at 2pm the place was understandably slow (near empty) though a few diners were lingering watching sports on the TV. The man behind the bar was kind and patient with us, answering all our questions as we placed our order. The food was AMAZING! I got the Loki Club, my husband got the patty melt, my sons got a grilled cheese and a cheeseburger on pretzel bun. We all shared bites of each others food, it all looked so good we couldn't resist. Everything we ordered was beyond our expectations, including the grilled cheese!
