A fantastic historic inn in a beautiful location. The wonky rooms modestly made up but unfortunately looking a little dated. The breakfast was good but we were told to be up for 8am as he was in a rush for Sunday lunch which would have been good to know on arrival. But then there was no one to be seen when we got down for the requested time. If the rooms were updated/redecorated a little and the breakfast times were a bit more forgiving then i would highly rate it. Still, nice pub in a beautiful location
Quaint little village. Nice place to stay would stay again. Breakfast was lovely, we arrived at 8 am as stated but did have to wait for the other chef to arrive so breakfast was closer to 9 am. Drinks at the bar pretty much standard prices.
Only popped for a pint and two puddings ????.
Despite food having finished we were still served. Friendly and obliging staff. Good atmosphere with locals. Great beer ????.
Great honest pub food, excellent pint of Murphys and very friendly staff.
The landlord informed me of the haunted outbuildings which ghost hunters from around the country have visited.
Very interesting place and a proper feel of a traditional cosey North Yorkshire pub, with traditional open fires; could of stayed in there all night drinking and chatting to the friendly locals ????

I never usually make reviews but I can’t hold my tongue. The food was clearly microwaved. My boyfriend ordered a pulled pork burger, it arrived but with no burger and was told the menu is wrong, they did knock off 10% but it was £16 for a skinny little ‘burger’ with just pulled pork and a few chips! My dad got food poisoning from the steak and was laid up all the next day. By far the worst place I’ve ever been to. We travelled over 4 hours to this lovely town to only be dissapointed by this restaurant.
4 weeks later and I'm still very disappointed with New Inn. Room was fine except for the cobwebs. Food was good and staff were friendly, however they never showed up for breakfast the following morning. Despite being told breakfast would be served between 8.30am and 9.00am when we left at 9.30am there were still no staff there. Won't be returning.
Beautifully cooked, tasty food. Great service and friendly staff.
Lovely pub restaurant. Staff friendly, service good. Have been in for food twice this week and both times the food has been great. Would definitely eat here again and recommend to friends and family if they're in the area.
