Sorry to say today's experience was bad overcooked omelette twice filling like a pizza topping. 8oz steak burger more like a 4 oz smash burger over cooked and dry. Cujin chicken as thin as a cracker and grilled to death. We have been patrons of the nags head but after what we were served today its in question. Plus 1 of the landlords stood right in front of us and didn't introduce himself. I wish the staff the best and hope they stop cutting corners with the food and deliver what we expect from this local stable.

Traditional pub, excellent ales and exceptional home cooked food... The chef apologised that the steak had burst out of its pie case!
You don't get that problem with shop bought pies.
We were squeezed in at short notice as a table for 8. Birthday banners were at our table as it was someone in our parties birthday, which I’d only briefly mentioned when booking. The food was superb, great value for money & all the staff were so friendly. Would highly recommend!
Decent olde-style pub with nice staff. Real home-made food. Reasonable choice of standard ales, plus a couple of cask ales. Dog friendly. Outside area.

This pub is the gem of Sawley. Debs and her wonderful team make the most incredible home cooked food in the most loveliest pub atmosphere in the area. I’ve recommended The Nags to all friends and family and they all comment on the lovely food at friendly atmosphere of this pub and always return. It is recommended to book if you do want food as it can get a little busy.
Drinks are all spot on and very tasty too!
If you are visiting the area, I can’t recommend this pub enough!
First time going on the 21st Dec with ping pong team. Food was amazing, staff so friendly. Will be returning ????????
