To anyone- immediately change to another practice!!!
I have been going here all my life. When Dr Winayak was the doctor it was an excellent practice. Over the last year or so it has become a hostile, rude and an awful place. I avoid it as much as possible. I needed some help and I got pied off. I called once a day for 3 days and finally someone said to me the nurse is only in on fridays. If the first person new that, it should have been communicated. Instead I was told they will be in touch with me that day. I was then spoken over by the receptionist saying the nurse will have plenty of work and I need to allow them time to complete and get up to date with their work. Most of the receptionists are rude and don't let you speak, they are blunt. They are the face of the practice so should be making the patients feel at ease and welcome. They do the complete opposite. People that go to the doctors are in need of help and support and the medical centre is not the place for that. Extremely saddening as it has been my doctors all my life. I am in the process of going to another practice. I called multiple times and was asked to call back at 8:30am, so I did- the receptionist was blunt and said how I had already called and I mentioned that she asked me to call back. For her to then say oh yes I did and good thing because I had reminded her (again!)
They also said I needed to give 4 weeks notice, I gave them 3 cause I was unaware of the 4 and then it was down to 2 weeks due to their incompetence and lack of help. I have now managed to get an appointment tomorrow at another practice, who were much more helpful. It would have been helpful if they would have just been honest at the beginning and told me this. Instead their reasoning and stories changed all the time. I am looking to get the Tetanus vaccine if the practice doesn’t have this readily in stock, then that raises concerns!
The are certainly letting Dr Winayak reputation down! I am very relieved to be registered elsewhere soon.
Im 21 female student and this practice has only demonstrated the worst experience I’ve ever had with medical professionals. So rude, unhelpful and act as if they have no time for you. I’ve been left crying with frustration. Every appointment I’ve ever had at this centre, I have had to go to urgent care afterwards to receive any medical care. The doctors and receptions have no time. Do not enrol here.
Most of the reviews for this Practice are outdated.
This GP has gone massively downhill since Dr Winyak left.
Only a couple decent practicing Dr's left there; two have annoyed me to no end as of late for various health problems.
Receptionists are hit or miss for helpfulness.
Everytime I speak to a local friend or neighbour, they confirm they're having the same awful experience.
Please, please look elsewhere if your current medical requirement is more important than, I don't know, a grazed knee.
The surgery has gone downhill since Dr a Winayak left. Dr Dhandee doesn’t seem to have any bedside manners or listens to patients either. Why prescribe one packet of medications when you have always had 3. What good is one packet?
It was very clear in the prescription system they need, the changes yet he still prescribed one box.
Then Dr Cheong calls my son to
ask him where his form is? I put it in the letter box. I will try and find it! Then he call twice more you need a blood test and ECG. No explanation given why, he’s only 19, why would he need an ecg. I told my son not to worry I would sort it out and call them. Such a shame I feel I need to move away from this failing surgery.
This surgery has gone down hill. It was really good when Dr Winayak was there but when new doctor took over the system changed. You will be lucky if they pick your phone. I did more than 100 calls but always busy as now you can only get appointments if you call at 8 am so everyone will call at same time. Ridiculous system as now you have to wait ages to get hold of them. And walk in centre says why we don’t go to GP instead of coming to A&E or walking centre.
Lovely receptionists, doctors and nurses. Special thank you to doctor James Carlton, he was very understanding and helpful with my health problem and referred me to a specialist immediately.
Staff in this medical Centre really care about their patients.
Excellent Service
I have read some of the negative reviews here about this practice and must say I think they are a little unfair. I have never experienced any issues here, that is not to say they do not happen. I have been with Dr Winayak for many years now and have always found him and his staff to be excellent and most professional and attentive. With ever increasing demands on the NHS they work under extreme pressure and deadlines and sometimes can not spend as much time as they would like with you , however every time I have seen either Dr W or Pam the Nurse I have received nothing but the best of care from them.
Special thanks to GP Dr Indervir Dhandee, Dr Mathur, Dr Chong, Dr Kerr and staff - for all the prompt care given to me during my Covid days and follow up as well.
The Medical Centre Hanworth Practice team is courteous and always does best for patients in their charge.
