Lovely clean well presented shop with a hot counter serving pasties and sausage rolls. We were served by friendly staff with lots of local knowledge about fossil collecting. I would recommend and use again when in the area.
This is a fantastic local store, hardworking staff, with a vast range of produce, fresh fruit and veg, bakery items, chilled meats and cheeses, snacks, wine and lots more, including beach and camping paraphernalia. Catering for holidaymakers and local people alike.
Clean, kind of cheap prices, nice service
Arrived in the village yesterday for a 1 week stay and after reading the reviews I was very reluctant to visit this store, but I'm so glad I ignored the bad reviews. What a wonderful little store, superb range of goods, fresh cooked bread and pastries, and lovely staff.
After my visit, I looked at the bad reviews again, to find that 3/4 of them are about being told to wear a face mask or 'get out'! It's strange that in reality, only about 0.001% of the UK population would find it impossible to wear a face mask for the 3 minutes you would be in the store, but so many of them visit Lulworth store!! Look at the woman who walked 12km with her 70 year old mum!! Lulworth is a very hilly area and walking is challenging. Yet the both of these ladies walked 12km, proving firstly that health is in the family as her mum is 70, but she also made the walk... but OMG, I'm so ill, I can't put on a face mask for 30 seconds to walk in a shop!! I would put a huge bet on the fact that not one of these so called 'exempt' people could not wear a mask for a 3 minute shop visit. You are law breakers and you don't like it when someone tells you so. And I'm sure these very nice shop workers can see that! So I applaud you for turning them away. You are a credit the community and the care about safety of staff and other shoppers.
I thank you for being one of the very few shops around that make this stance and so I will personally support this local business every day I'm here.
Great local shop, well stocked and a great resource. Shame it gets so much uncalled for abuse from people visiting our beautiful place. It makes me laugh reading the 1 star review people. I am sure I witnessed a few of these events. I most definitely side with the shop keeper. Throughout pandemic they have provided free masks and have done their very best to accommodate normal trade in what is a small shop so not was never designed for social distancing. A* shop for those that don’t want to visit the shop again, please steer clear of Dorset you are obviously scum. From a Very Happy Customer
We came still stay in Lulworth and found this shop a great little place to pick up the essentials.
Very well stocked with basics that everybody needs and also some surprisingly good little finds that jump off the shelf and make you think "I want that".
We used it most days of our week trip and couldn't fault it.
I have seen a few bad reviews on here mentioning masks etc and people being asked to wear them in store. This is clearly signed outside the store and therefore I can't see why people have a problem with it.
One of the rudest shop assistants I’ve ever encountered.
I was rudely asked why I wasn’t wearing a mask and when I told the gentleman with a beard behind the counter I am exempt, he rolled his eyes and made me feel like a leper.
Customer service in this store is seriously lacking and I won’t be returning, plus I’ll be advising the party of 12 people staying at our cottage to take their custom elsewhere. A terrible stain on an otherwise lovely area.
