The Limes Bar and Hotel

A group of us ate on a busy Friday night, food and service was great. A very enjoyable evening which didn’t break the bank! | Only saw 1 room as friends staying for the weekend, they were impressed and again very affordable. Great to see this place having a buzz about it again after such a long time.

We made a last minute booking to stay at the Limes where we already had tickets to watch a show. We were planning to stay elsewhere, but were struggling to find a taxi to run us to and from where we had originally booked. Up to then, I had only spoken to the Limes over the phone with a few questions etc. With each phone call, I found the staff were super helpful and incredibly polite and this continued when we arrived in person (parking was also easy due to a large car park to the rear of the hotel). We were met by Nicole who is the owner/manager along with her brother Ashley. Nicole was very friendly and attentive, even personally showing us up to our room, which was a nice touch and something that you do not get so much these days. We had a table already booked for dinner and had an enjoyable meal that was very well priced.|We found the room perfectly comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast the following morning was as good as any I have ever had and again, very reasonably priced. Even when my picky partner wanted to change bits and make various swaps to her breakfast, Nicole was very accommodating and happy to individualise the dish to Miss picky pants requirements. |Overall, we would absolutely recommend the Limes hotel on price and atmosphere, along with the friendliness of the staff.

I stayed here recently for work. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a delicious chicken burger for dinner and an absolutely enormous breakfast. I’d like to see bottomless tea and coffee offered with the breakfast though as the one small cup felt a bit stingy. No real ale on at the time either.

I’d definitely stay again though. Nice place with nice people.

It was a good job that it was only one night.|The room was very nice, on the front of the hotel, the curtains were very thin, there were two halogen lights shining directly into the room all night long. There was no soundproofing of the windows, so we heard every vehicle that passed.|Worst of all there was a poor excuse of a church bell, an electric version, it rang x2 at a quarter past, x4 at half past, x6 at a quarter to and x8 on the hour, all through the night. So at midnight it rang 20 times!!!!|The evening meal was nice but we asked for our steaks to be rare, they were cremated.|Breakfast was nice but bear in mind, there is no cereal or toast and we were charged extra for orange juice and my second cup of tea!!!!

Spent a week at The Limes. Staff were extremely helpful and professional. Ash and the team do a great job of making you feel right at home in a chilled and relaxing environment, and the breakfasts are first class with no fuss with extras or swapping things you're not keen on.

Christmas party night booked for corporate function. We had a fab time at the Limes. The food was awesome, I looked around after the mains and almost every plate had been completely polished off. One of the best Christmas meals we have had. The team were super helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Would 100% book the Limes again in the future.

Amazing stay (Sat 21st October) - the staff could not do enough for us. Lovely old fashioned type room with wood beams etc.

The veggie breakfast was the best we had ever had - don't change it! Great value for money too.

Fire alarm went off 3 times in the night with different faults.||Biggest issue the fire action notice says tell staff if a incident or report to reception and staff will instruct on statue of evacuation but no staff on site at night to deal with anything issues / incident not even a emergency contact number at reception so guests can contact someone ||Guess had to search the building doing the fire sweep etc ||No breakfast before 8am no good for people working in the area and have to get off early. ||To cap it the church bell or something rings every 15mins so when you’ve woken it was hard to get back to sleep ||Very disappointed
