Best KPortal Reviews
Delicious and authentic Thai food. Was a bit dubious as the last review left a couple of days before we went wasn't great, but luckily it didn't resonate with our experience at all, maybe they were having an off night and also food tastes are subjective. To add, we've tried four Thais in a 5 mile radius and this is joint top with our usual, and we've spent many months over the years in Thailand, so have a good idea of what the food should be. We're som tum (papaya salad) fiends and won't go for a Thai if it's not on the menu, so as our usual Thai restaurant wasn't offering it that night, we thought we'd give this place a try and we're really glad we did. Everything was cooked and prepared perfectly with good quality ingredients. Bit of a mix up with the change so we tipped accordingly (as we always will with good food and service) no complaints at all and we'll definitely be back, highly recommend you give it a try.
First time trying this Thai place and was excited due to very good reviews.
Ordered online and had it delivered - no issues and didn’t wait long.
Unfortunately, the food was quite lacking. The pad Thai was pretty nice, but the chicken satay skewers were very dry, with a tiny pot of peanut sauce. Similarly, the chicken stir fry I had was bland and the chicken was dry. Possibly their chicken needs to be brined or marinaded for longer I’m not sure. I’ve made better rice at home. Lovely prawn crackers but could’ve done with about 5 times the amount of sweet chilli sauce!
It’s the only Thai place in the area that I’ve tried so far, so it could very well be the best option hence the good reviews. I sadly wouldn’t order from here again though, sorry.
When I read the reviews from past guests of The Hoxley, I was a bit apprehensive. One of the best Thai outside of Thailand? Coming from Southeast Asia, my family and I were curious. How authentic could this be?
We were pleasantly surprised with their authentic Thai flavours. The fried Cod in green curry was perfectly balanced. Not too spicy, nor too heavy with the coconut milk. The Tom Kha Gai was just as flavourful and you must drench your rice with the sweet/sour coconut broth. They took our request to make their Pad Khra Pao not spicy for my 9 year old daughter. Thank you!
Lovely find out in St Leonard's of all places. kop khun krap!
This is a little hidden gem of a restaurant which just happened to be the nearest to our AirBnB. Definitely the most memorable food experience I've ever had in St. Leonards / Hastings. The food was the best authentic Thai kitchen I've ever tasted. Lovingly exquisit. And the service and atmosphere were lovely.
The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars for the food, is for the lack of an appealing (Thai) desert menu, but they were very sweet to improvise an ice-cream caramel desert for my wife's sweet tooth.
We’ve been twice in the last two months and the food has been excellent both times and the menu has varied. This was on a Saturday night. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service, quality food and value. I highly recommend The Hoxley St Leonards on sea.
Gorgeous quality Thai menu. Had the panang curry with steak. Lychee vodkas martinis delicious!
Really enjoyed our evening.
Food is very tasty.
Only one thing though,
they should do a desert menu.
Myself and my partner always drive past The Hoxley and always say how we’ll go but never quite make it. Anyway it was my birthday this week and we decided to go (we didn’t book we just turned up and hoped for the best) well thank god we did. THE. BEST. THAI. FOOD.
We actually went to the Ivy Asia last weekend and both said hands down the food here was a million times better, tastier and the service was top notch, at 1/3 of the price.
There was a guy looking after us and he couldn’t have been more hospitable, giving recommendations on the menu and just generally being really attentive and friendly.
Our food was amazing and we will be back again and again.
So pleased we found this little gem!
